Question that we had to answer online tonight for AP Environmental. Here you will see my friend's response and my response, respectively.

After reading the article about China's population control program, prepare a 5-8 sentence reponse to the following question: If we continue to degrade our life-support system (Earth and all of its natural resources), what will happen in 2050 when there are expected to be 2.7 billion more of us? Do you agree or disagree with China's population control program? Why? What aspects to think are fair? What aspects do you think are unfair? What if the United States decided to implement such a program? Would you be for or against such a thing? Why or why not?

If we as a human race continue to degrade our life-support system by polluting and growing, I believe that in 2050 when there are expected to be 2.7 billion more people we will have a huge world war over resources and 4.0 gpa rappers who ball hard such as Trinidad James. He won't be taking his talents to South beach. While I do agree that this explosive growth is detrimental to our society as a whole, I do not agree with China's population control program because the human population needs to reproduce as much as possible to create new forms of genius such as "2 Chainz" or "Supa Hot Fiya". Also, there's the minor argument that it is unfair for a government to control a person's right to the amount of children they can have. If the United States decided to implement such a program, the country would be in shock at this outrage that there would be another civil war. Even Tupac would come back from the dead.

If we continue to follow the path that we are currently on, eventually we will deplete our resources and degrade the Earth to a point where there will be no resources left to take from it. I believe that my man, Sir Thomas Malthus was right when back in the day he stated that one day the population would outgrow the food supply. While I wouldn't want a population control program in the United States, I appreciate and agree with what China is doing because I could care less about how citizens of China feel, I'm an American. 'merica. If they are helping to keep the global population down, kudos to them, they're saving dogs in the process as well. I suspect that we will find a way with genetic engineering to sustain our population though, no matter how large it gets. Science is a beautiful thing.
