Something strange has been happening the past couple of days on HF Boards.

I log onto HF Boards and browse as I normally do.

Then, all of a sudden, not only does HF boards stop loading up, but I can't load any website up on my browser.

It's like my internet is disconnected except my computer says I'm connected to the internet.

I have to restart my computer and everything works normally again.

This issue only occurs after I have logged onto HF Boards.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

I had my computer checked.

It turns out it my Panda Anti Virus Software is incompatible with the most updated Windows 10.

Once I removed Panda Anti Virus, the issues went away.

Been years since seeing a bench-clearing in hockey , so where do I see one…. Canada vs Panama in soccer. No punches thrown, but both “benches” cleared.

Canadians stirring stuff up, never would've seen that years ago.

Also Phonzie is an incredible talent, the type that would never commit to Canada in the past and wait until they got called up by a "bigger" country. Shows a change in Canadian soccer.

My guess is my first safe ride in a driverless car will be freaky as shit……by the 2nd or 3rd time I would get use to it fast.
Gotta say, the first time I let Autopilot drive me around a curve on the #1 (with no other vehicles around - I had to take baby steps), it was almost like that feeling you got when you're about to go cliff-jumping, or taking a breath underwater when snorkelling for the first time. It's surprising how quickly I got used to it. Though even after 9 years of Tesla ownership, my wife still almost never uses Autopilot, and when she does, her extra pressure on the wheel turns it off constantly...

94.3 has laid off all on-air staff. Anyone know what their future format is to be?

According to one article:

If it’s any indication of sister station 102.3 Now! Radio in Edmonton, the format will be hot adult contemporary, playing music from the 80s to today.

**

Whatever the heck that means. These are radio people who can work in any format. I'm not sure why changing the format means firing people, but it's radio.

Makes you wonder how long until radio goes the way of printed newspapers, Blockbuster and HMV.

With Spotify, XM and so much great podcast content, I haven't tuned into local radio for years

I think you hit the root cause there: the Sirius model is likely what they're going to follow. Why pay for local staff when you can simply record segments in a centralized location and then feed that content out in blocks to various markets? Hot adult contemporary, classic rock, modern country hits - format is generic for most markets. They'll probably work out a deal with a local media television station to plunk in local news at the top of the hour at best and the rest is done by half a dozen people recording shows.

It sucks but is a reality… local broadcasting in general is pretty much toast… at one time The local TV news anchor or Rock station DJ was locally famous… “A pretty big deal”… now local is dead… it’s the 10,000 Chanel universe…I grew up in rural Manitoba with 3 TV Chanel’s and 2 FM radio channels… so you really knew your local news and radio guys…
There isn’t even a local sports guy on any of the city news anymore it’s just the main anchor that spouts out sports…

I look it as a transitional stage. Podcasts and other platforms will eventually fill the void for local content. If they are talented enough they will survive.

I think there is an appetite for local, regional, and international news but the traditional business models that have supported the delivery are under siege.

Agrees but the days of the local media star are gone.
Back in the 80s and 90s you could be a legit local Winnipeg media celebrity and be kinda a big wig walking into Wise Guys as the local weatherman, TV anchor/ Sports guy, or big Radio DJ
Back in the day The likes of say Lisa Best, Steve Volgolsang, Rod Black, Sylvia Kuzyk… would be kinda a big deal.. now try and even try and name one local media personality.

Replaced by “Social” media celebrities I guess. The process has been demoralized.

Went to that 6 pines haunted thing last night, it was alot of fun and laughs. If you are looking for something to do one night go give at try, went and did it at Universal in LA a couple of years ago and i have to say this was actually better.

It's because all these stations are owned by big corporations that used to be Canadian and are no longer Canadian
