The best show on TV, period, is Game of Thrones.

Breaking Bad was next, during its best seasons.

Now that it's gone, I'd say that True Detective has taken Breaking Bad's spot as next best show

House of Cards is on the same level as Newsroom. Politically driven drama that adds unnecessary drama to add interest. It's well written, with great character development, and somewhat decent drama relative to what can be given in that industry of work... but once they start stretching for drama - i.e. murders of congressmen, reporters, and such... those shows always take a hit in believability and entertainment.

Dexter was really good till its final few seasons. The writers of the show shat the bed.

Spranos was awesome when it was on. And I've heard the Wire is GOAT, but in terms of shows that are on now... Game of Thrones takes the cake by FAR.

Walking Dead was good for its first few seasons and has taken a step back. American Horror Story same story, no pun intended.

In terms of shows to watch, I'd tell anyone who hasn't watched GoT, BB, TD, and HOC to watch them in that order.

I'm all about The walking Dead right now. Since Sopranos that's been my go-to show. I've never been real big on TV shows in general, but seeing all this talk about True Detective and Breaking Bad makes me think I might have to check on of those out.

I'm a Walking Dead fan, but Breaking Bad blows it out of the water.

Breaking Bad and Lost are my 2 favorite TV shows.

All I ever heard about Lost was how confusing it was. Seeing the names of some of the people involved, however, I kind of find it hard to believe it's anything but a good show.

I'm going to have to check out Breaking Bad now. Way too many people are talking about it. I've seen a few spoilers over the years though. :(

I stopped watching LOST after its second season because of all the unexplained red herrings. It seemed like the writers were either having a laugh at our expense, or just lost track of all the weird stuff they wrote into the show.

Lost would have been better if Abrams stayed involved after season 1.

It's why Fringe stayed good all the way through.

Eh, I thought Fringe got a little cheesy at the end with the whole Observer Arc. The first few seasons were great though.

Also, True Detective is, without a doubt, the best show on TV right now, at least until Game of Thrones returns. My wife hates the pacing of TD, but if you can appreciate the idiosyncrasies of the show, you'll really enjoy it. The first couple episodes go slowly, it's just the nature of the show, it very slowly builds.

The first 3 seasons were killer. After that it got kind of weird.

That was my favorite season. The whole "push the button" thing was intense.

You guys are young...

Best Shows Ever:

Mad Men
Sopranos

Tour of Duty, NYPD Blue or Hill Street Blues were both better than Lost for network shows. Then again, I didn't watch lost because I don't watch garbage. aahahhhhhaaa

Lost WOATEST OF WOAT. HATE that show. Pure loathe.

So, you guys are always talking about Classic rock, but I don't think I've seen The Who mentioned once. Whats up with that?

True Detective is NOT the next Breaking Bad. By series end there isn't a chance True Detective holds a candle up to Breaking Bad.

Next season True Detective is gonna have a brand new cast. No way whoever they get can match up with Woody and McConaughey.

I still have to get into Mad Men and The Wire. I actually have a long list of shows that I need to watch.
