Hand Grenade is an amazing song. I'd have to give the nod to Jamestown though.

Good call, I loved Kelly song on that album too.

I wish someone would do like a Drive Thru Records "reunion" tour, I'd totally go.

I might even forgive Gabe Saporta if Midtown played again.

Not Drive-Thru, but probably the best punk band from this era:

Kelly Song was great, my buddy used to date a girl named Kelly and I'd put that song on after they split and he would be like, "Dude..." ha

I would too man, there are about 100 great bands from back in the day I'd kill to see again.

There was a Finch show down here a couple months ago. They played everything from What It Is To Burn. I'm kind of sad I missed that.

totally agree.....

I suddenly have an urge to whisper "I have a phobia that someone else is near...." then smash a guitar across one of my co-worker's heads.

I saw Iron Maiden 2 times. They seem to get better with age.

undeniably great, but super duper overrated

I've always said they were overrated but great, mainly because most people I know would talk about how much better they are than Pink Floyd.

That being said, even though I don't consider them the greatest band of all time like many do, they are probably the second best band I have ever heard now that I've really sat down and digested their music. They are close enough to being the greatest, IMO.

I could never get into the Beatles

I find most of their stuff to be good but it doesn't do much for me

The Beatles music itself is not what makes them great...it's the ripple down affect they had on popular music and culture that in many ways gave birth to rock music as we know it.

The were the first band to focus on creating albums as a whole vs singles, first group to hold concerts at large outdoor venues, created the music video as we know it, one of the first acts to focus on a group vs solo performer, etc. Groundbreaking in so many ways.

I'm not even that into their music personally (Zeppelin = GOAT) but the influence of the Beatles is remarkable.

this

Pink Floyd and The Doors are my fav bands ever. HM Steely Dan.

The Beatles are Derek Jeter. Not the GOAT, but kids playing SS want to be Derek Jeter, not Honus Wagner.

I used to always say the Beatles were overrated, and musically i'd listen to Pink Floyd 9/10 times over them. However, certain chord progressions and other things we take for granted in music can all be traced to the Beatles. Can't disrespect.

Absolutely love Finch. Letters to Burn and Three simple words > all other finch songs. Any one here ever heard of student rick?

Pretty much how I feel about almost all music outside of my own tastes. I think you can accept a band is good, but not enjoy their music.

However, I do also believe there are musicians that you could probably get away with calling bad despite the highly subjective nature of musical tastes.

Agreed. Example: Adele is a talented singer and I respect her music, but I don't enjoy listening to it.

Also, I still maintain that The Beatles and Pink Floyd are so vastly different from each other that they cannot be compared. I asked around at work (all musicians) and they agree. No one understands why you would even compare the two. What it boils down to is that one is about songwriting and the other about musicianship.

For me, I see enough ****ers on guitar that musicianship has begun to take a serious back seat to songwriting. That's in everything, not just my disdain for Pink Floyd.

Saw them at the Garden with Motorhead and Dio circa 2003 or 2004. What a show that was.

I think Dio was supposed to be the supporting act with Iron Maiden on their 2010 tour, but he passed away.
