Hey Tawnos......

For us older guys on the boards, how about The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Clapton?

A great American died today....Pete Seeger

Love all three. The Derek and the Dominoes (Clapton and Duane Allman, for those who don't know. Ever heard of Layla?) album is one of my favorites of all-time. Plus, Clapton was in Cream... enough for me! I mentioned earlier in the thread that Jack Bruce is one of my main bass influences.

Didn't realize Pete Seeger died today. Waist Deep in the Big Muddy is an amazing song. Now listening to Seeger.

I like their music way more than I respect them. They were a combination of some of my favorite bands, only makes sense. I don't think they were particularly talented or groundbreaking, but they made a couple amazing albums.

I'm just kidding, I can totally see how people don't like them. They're overrated, all the bs mystique built around Courtney/drugs/suicide, and that they songs are punk in their simplicity and "f u" attitude. Seems like everyone around here is more into classic rock/metal so I can understand it.

Both my parents are huge dead heads haha. I'm not the biggest band jam fan but I can dig it every so often.

Also I love Sugaree. Great song.

Bands/artists of recent listening

The Naked and Famous
Fitz and the Tantrums
Lana Del Rey
Chance the Rapper
The Dead Weather
Corrosion of Conformity
Arctic Monkeys
The Joy Formidable
Modest Mouse

Can't think of who else. Damn... I haven't listened to much metal lately.

Yus.

Dez Fafara is a great vocalist. I used to love them when I went through my hardcore phase, still like em.

Pray For Villains and The Last Kind Words GOAT.

Dez is awesome. Started listening to them more recently. I like You Make Me Sick and Digging up the Corpses the best. Like Dez better in Devildriver than in Coalchamber.

Coal Chamber only had one good album, their first one.

Dez is much better suited to music like Devildriver as opposed to slow and technical nu metal. He has a powerful and exciting voice, it was being wasted with Coal Chamber.
