Got drunk at a spring breakup event. All money was going to a good cause but I ended up paying 1100 bucks for a signed Nail Yakupov jersey.
I bought a yakupov Jersey years ago. For my wife. For 60bucks. Because I'm fiscally prudent (cheap) hehe

But I spent the same for my Smyth Jersey with the Oil man patch and A. Same price, 60bucks.

A sports shop here used to discount all the jerseys of just released players to 60 bucks. Game on. heh.

Barrie is probably on sale. ;)

My wife bought an Ethan Moreau jersey a long time ago, after she saw a picture of him standing in the dressing room with nothing but a towel on.
Man, I used to love Ethan Moreau, until I met him for an Autograph session. He was down-right unfriendly to say the least. Felt like he didn't want to be there. I don't think anyone wants to be in an autograph session, but at least show you give a damn, especially in front of the kids. Same with Petry.

That curling shot by Niklas Edin was totally mind boggling.
What is really interesting about this is that the spin was used to make the rock curl more. You very seldom see spin on a draw since it would be very unpredictable. More often players will add spin to a hit if they need it to go straight or even take a slight fall.

The physics behind why a curling stone curls in the direction of the spin is not well understood. It is actually counter intuitive. Typically you would expect it to go opposite of the spin which is what happens to a degree with a hit that is given a significant spin. But for a draw there are some weird things about how a curling stone moves that come into play.

This really was quite a remarkable shot. When the rock made contact it was going at an exaggerated angle which was the only way that it could have been moved far enough to beat out the rock it was right in front of. The other cool part was the last spin bringing the rock back to the button to be second shot.

Years ago when I moved to Kingston I curled in a fun league at the Royal Kingston Curling Club (great club by the way) where teams were chosen by the designated skips for each 10 week segment of the year. As a new guy to the club and because I was only 29 I was rated as a second/lead despite having been a serious competitive curler for many years. My first team I ended up with an older fellow as my skip who was addicted to "spinners". He was about 70 and despite the fact that he had probably only curled since he was in his mid to late 50's, and certainly never curled competitively, he felt he should teach me the proper way to throw a hit. He believed that the best way to call a hit was to give no ice and have the player throw a "spinner". So pretty much every time he gave me, or anyone else on our team, a hit, he would yell...Remember, throw a spinner.

Gushue gets trounced by the scots. But at least John Rahm won the masters which makes me happy.

Almost witnessed our annual river tragedy on the North Sask today. Was hiking near Hawryluk park and was taking a break on one of the benches. Across the river is an off leash dog park trail and I see a dog run down onto the river which is right now a 10 on a scale of 1-10 in danger. The dog of course breaks though the ice and is wallowing around and cant get out.

No owner within sight at all, after a while the dog starts baying and yelping, a few minutes of this and the owner clues in and comes running down to the river edge, the guys goes out onto the ice does the lay out and stretch and breaks through the ice as well. Luckily for him the river is low and he was just up to about his waist. He manages to heave the dog out and get out himself. But he was like feet from going under the ice and then it's all over.

Anyone walking their dogs this time of year, BE CAREFUL for at least a few weeks keep your dog close or on leash.

This dude solved the puzzle

Came here to post the article lol. “I’m the mannnn in the BALLS” in the style of Alice in Chains..

Verse 1: I'm the man in the balls, trapped in metal and cold Can't move my limbs, can't find a hold Surrounded by silver, no way to escape In this art installation, I'm a prisoner of shape

Chorus: Hey! Stuck in the balls Won't somebody come and help me? Hey! Stuck in the balls I can't get out, I can't break free

Verse 2: People walk around me, taking pictures and such But they don't hear me scream, they don't feel my clutch I'm a human sculpture, a living artwork But I didn't sign up for this, I didn't play my part

Chorus: Hey! Stuck in the balls Won't somebody come and help me? Hey! Stuck in the balls I can't get out, I can't break free

Bridge: How long will I be here, how long can I last? My muscles are cramping, my breath is getting fast I don't want to die here, alone in this place But if no one saves me, that's my destiny and fate

Chorus: Hey! Stuck in the balls Won't somebody come and help me? Hey! Stuck in the balls I can't get out, I can't break free

Outro: I'm the man in the balls, a victim of art But I'm also a survivor, with a beating heart So if you see a sculpture, and it looks alive Take a closer look, maybe it's someone's life.

Calgary is the international hub in Alberta. This is an old issue that goes back to the debate about the now-closed city center airport.
I was shocked by this. I flew to Edmonton direct from Europe in the early 2000's and there were a few direct flights. I would rather not get there via Calgary and Toronto--just because

Part of this could be pandemic related. Westjet for example has shut down a lot of their international flights. You can't fly to Europe on Westjet out of Toronto for example.

Just for clarity this isn't the doofus that was inside the Balls. This was somebody jogging by as they were trying to extricate the idiot.

The fool is now complaining that he got charged for mischief, probably won't even bother paying, and he damaged several of the balls climbing up on the structure.

Charge him for mischief, damage, Maybe assign him community hours of cleaning balls for the next year.

Fire department should've told him "Suck balls" Toss him a Flames jersey and matches to stay warm.

joking..
