Oshawa Generals 2024 25 Season Thread Part Ii

HUGE! What a statement game. They weathered the storm and powered through and shake off the demons of last year.

Here.....we.....go!

Good old predictable Dale, put the plugs on when you've lost. Don't worry Oshawa, they just act tough but lost every scrap last round. Take the W.

Agreed they lost some of the fights.....but they weren't complete ass kickings. Knights took some Rangers with them to the box .....look at who were the better players that they fought.....Rangers players were the better players. It's an old recipe....Rangers should not have fell for it!

Can we wait for the series is over before claiming London will be in the Memorial Cup. Same thing happened in 1996-97 when Generals had to be in Laval with Ottaway 67's on their OHL Passes cause people thought Ottawa would be there and in 2014-2015 people we certain Connor McDavid and Erie would be there. That is why games are played on the ice not on HF message boards

I do not understand this narrative that London is a well-disciplined team and that last night's penalty call difference was so out of the ordinary. London had more PIM than Oshawa in the regular season, more PIM than Oshawa in the playoffs (in fewer games played), and more PIM than Oshawa in Game 1. To me, the London Knights are not a well-disciplined team based on these numbers, and this is something they need to be aware of, as well as not having TSN spew this narrative that they are.

Do they have Marc Methot giving his one sided TSN views on London again this year?

No, Marc Methot was not on last night's broadcast, just Frankie C and some other guy, Victor.

Combined, it's obvious they have seen less than 3 OHL Games played by the Generals or Knights all season and can only talk about last year's OHL Final.

The Fat Lady has to sing before it's over.

Windsor Fan here, Great game Gen's . Great to see London get spanked. I think you guys are playing them well. Standing up tall , making some great hits, but not getting sucked into the retaliation type of penalties. The Gennies this year are big , tough, skilled and fast with some solid goaltending. Love your chances if you can stay disciplined and keep the puck on the outside. Good luck Guys !

Methot is too busy dragging the Leafs on twitter this year. The broadcast is kind of pathetic. Laura Diakun is in studio by herself and then Craig Button calls in from home. Corrado and Victor Findlay are calling the game. As mentioned above, I dont think they've watched that much OHL action this season.

Methot regularly has some of the worst twitter takes i have ever seen.
They would be way further ahead to just have a couple non based other OHL teams play by play guys come in and call it. -I also feel like Button knows a little bit about everything but not very much of anything lol. If that makes sense.
I always get a good giggle out of his NHL draft rankings when he releases them.

That would be a great idea, many experienced commentators on Rogers have been doing it for years, or have a commentator from London and a Color guy from Oshawa or vice versa

Even if London wins Game 2, I think Oshawa would be happy with a split in London and taking home ice advantage away for now. What is the saying, "you don't worry until you lose a game on home ice"
