Oshawa Generals 2024-25 Season Thread, Part II

The officiating was awful and skewed to Brantfords favour.

That said, Brantford did three things well. Things that have been a problem for the Generals all year.

Very aggressive forecheck, sending two guys in.

Very fast on turnarounds, with numbers. Led to several odd man rushes.

Traffic in front of Oster.

Another observation. I like Powell so far, but he lost a foot race twice last night.

Burchell’s huge grin on his face at the start of the third when being booed was enough to tell me we were not winning this one.

Now I remember why all the intelligent people left this board. Back to X I go.
No one cares. Your bias clouds your judgement. The still shot does nothing to change the adjudication just as no pick would have done nothing to change the outcome.

Hey guys looking for some input on what to expect from Beckett Sennecke as an NHL player. Is he a first line player or a bottom six player? 40 points or 80 points? I haven’t seen him play except for hi lites.

My fantasy league has our prospects draft next weekend and I have pick 2 so trying to decide between Demidov Lidstrom or Sennecke.

Definitely don’t pick Lindstrom I’ll tell ya that much- may be injury prone already at 18. Assuming it’s from this past draft the only 2 I’d pick over Sennecke are Celebrini and Demidov

Still not the best effort for a full 60 and Windsor was missing some skaters. Did like during the break to see Malone really give it to them on the bench. I’m still not sure what Interim Head Coach means beside Malone’s name as I don’t see a new head coach coming in now. I’m a little uneasy about a first time head coach taking a contending team into the playoffs. This team has the tools but the give aways have to stop now.

I dont want to say this should be an easy 4 point weekend but man, anything less than 4 points this weekend is a disappointing.

They have 24 games left and have to win 14 of them to hit 40 wins again and that alone may not be enough for 1st place.

This coach does not have this team ready to go.. 2nd nite in row this time to 2nd worst team in league and they are getting outplayed. Friday same shit but against the worst team in league. This is not a championship caliber team the way they are playing. Terrible penalty killing also.. Barlow honestly has been the only bright spot.. Finally playing like the player we traded for..

One of those nights where you couldn't buy a goal. Almost out shot them 2 to 1 and just couldn't get the bounces.

I give Guelph credit. They played amazing box out defence in their end and Ellsworth made about 6 or 7 amazing saves to make sure the game was never close.

Star of the game to be goes to Coach Stillman for putting together a great road strategy.

One thing I want to note, other than his first game as a Gen, Ethan Martin has borderline been invisible for the Gens. I'd move him to the 4th line with Franssen and Rogowski and give Toms the 3rd line spot.

Also, I'm glad D'Amato was finally man enough to fight and more so, glad someone finally gave him a beating he kinda deserved all year.

Consistency is this teams biggest weakness by far. They seem to play to their opponents. They will lose 6-1 to Guelph but will show up against Barrie, just like they did Windsor. It's very frustrating. Long 5 days ahead, onward and upward.

O’Rouke fired over special teams. Hmmmmm. Killed them tonight.

When have they shown up against Barrie this year?

Ethan Martin
Yeah what’s he here for? There was a point Sennecke was laying on the ice getting cross checked, Martin just skated by, let it happen… if hes not here to resolve stuff like that what’s he here for?

Tullio should’ve handed Laxdal a money bag to stay

Their PK has been atrocious.. even when the other team doesn't score the amount of quality chances they are getting is unreal.. Oster had been playing below average. When they made it 3 1 why are they not pulling him. I know the backup is young but Oster clearly was having a off nite and they needed to get him out of the net before it gets worse and sure enough it did. If they don't trust putting the kid in the net or hurting Osters feelings then we have a problem.. They should of went after a capable backup. Their were plenty of goaltenders in the CHL that were put on waviers over the course of this season they could of gotten one for free.
