February birth date for Misa, December for Mckenna. This is only mckennas second full season and he is leading the chl in points. Misa is great but he is not Mckenna.

Misa not playing in the U18s was due to an injury I believe but if not then it’s just a real boneheaded move. Bedard and McDavid both played in the U18s who are the last “generational” forwards to come out of the CHL

I think Misa is good enough to be there but he is best as a centre. Who of the centres invited is he better than? Short list for sure. He will be on the team next year though for sure.

The point is McKenna is not a better player than Misa right now or more deserving of an invite than Misa this year.

Exactly. It's the same as any hypothetical trade that gets talked about on this site.

Like me saying the Gens are going to announce the signing of Haoxi Wang on Monday. Does me saying it on here make it true? Maybe, maybe not!
Woah wtf they just signed him... On Monday....

wait a second, so you're telling me when I brought up that Roobroeck still has a legit chance to get sent back, that wasn't just out of nowhere and made up, and actually came from sources who know things? Hmmmmm;)

Nailed it
when you were crying about us talking about Roobroeck last week I literally said the Gens were signing Wang on Monday and rumours are Roobroeck may not be far behind lol.

But yeah man, you cracked the code! Nothing gets by you

Is ‘07 McKenna 2.03 ppg in WHL better than ‘07 Misa 1.96 in OHL? Maybe the cut-off for OHL invites was 50%? Maybe Misa choosing not to participate in U18 was his undoing.

That is sort of my point. Misa is more mature and has that extra year of experience. I really don’t see a significant difference between the two.

Not many 16/17 year olds have made an impact in this tournament because of the extreme high level of play. Bedard performed really well in 2022 for his age but in 2023 when he was Misa’s age, he ran away with the Tournament. We’ve seen that a lot with Exceptional Status players over the years. Even Crosby in 2005 as a 17 year old was marginally good and he tallied 168 points that season.

I am not trying to bash McKenna. HE’s a good player but this is a whole new level. Not many 17 year olds can really do it. Maybe he can but I think we are reasonably certain about other players. Technically Misa and McKenna are the same birth year but still 11 months apart in age.

That is my concern. Misa missed the U-18 but only because he was banged up after a long season. I am not sure we can fault him for that. Or, maybe we can?

Nobody on here has sources at all. 🤪

In Gens relevant news, this would be puzzling. Unless he's deferring his freshman year. Scheduled for BU in 2025. Would be weird to be on a B card and then bounce to the NCAA right after.

Am I on crack or was it supposedly haoxi wang coming to Oshawa- not Simon? Or is Simon coming for 10 games, playing full time next year and haoxi wang coming now for this year? Pretty confused. Also if they’re brothers (I have no clue) EP doesn’t have them listed as so.

Same person. Simon is Haoxi. He goes by an english name sometimes because it's easier to tell people to call you that than fing up your name over and over.

Is that Haoxi Wang from King Rebelion or Simon Wang from Lindsay? Now I’m confused too 😂

I looked on ep and there’s a 5’10 guy and a 6’6 guy both from China. Is it the same profile twice or what happened? Lol

Haoxi Wang (Aka Simon Wang) From King Rebellions, BU commit is the signee by the Gens.

Simon Wang of Lindsay is not the same person

Given the recent signing, I project the Defensive lineup Wednesday will be

Sandhu-Sanford
Wang-Marrelli
D'Amato-Svozil

Best overall d maybe in the league. I still like Barrie’s top 4 more though.

I don’t know much about wang- is he a rough and tough customer? If so maybe Oshawa doesn’t need to trade for Konnor smith- unless they want the twin towers in the back end. Nobody will want to mess with them.

He lays the body from footage ive seen and can make plays offensively.

Konnor Smith is still contingent on Roobroeck i think. I know some people think there is no way he's coming back but I think we have to wait in that a but longer.

Too many variables but I think whether Roobroeck returns or we trade for Smith, D'Amatos days are numbered

What happens if roobroeck doesn’t come back AND they don’t trade for Konnor smith? Is there a chance they’d add a guy like Trent Swick (who is huge) from Kitchener on the wing?

I also wonder if they get a proven backup for oster. From what I’ve seen gravelle probably isn’t ready and what happens if oster gets hurt around playoff time?

Agreed. Either scenario D is out. I’d say Hunt pulls another Sandu type move if Roobs is back. Torrance is untouchable contrary to some. Guy is a full deal. Great to have in playoffs.
