Just speculation online as usual. His agent hasnt said that. Samer thing was said about Mctavish. Yet he was a great Petes player
His brother requested a trade out of Niagara, they gave him up for an 8th now it looks like he might be an NHL drafted guy. He’s not going to Niagara

Can we talk more about how giving up an 8th rd draft pick allowed the Gens to get a 53 pt player? Even a fan favourite like Hunter Smith never hit the 50 pt mark (1 pt shy in his last season)

The spin job from some posters at the time of the trade was comical.

Whats that matter? They listened to his request. Wasnt exactly the ugly ending your pretending it was. He said hey can you trade me i think i can play somewhere and they said sure. That was nice of thme. They easily couldve said no

If Niagara gets 1st he probably goes that as it matters for your draft stock

Gruber got a game misconduct and now a two game suspension for the non fight against Lemieux. As the OHL does not divulge why, we have to assume it was for something he said.

Said this on the Ottawa board butb not overly impressed with the 67's game today. They were lucky to win this game TBH. It looked like a different team out there today. Ottawa wasn't moving the puck like we've been customized to seeing. I thought Oster was outstanding. Made huge saves when needed so naturally made the difference stopping the 67's chances. McKenzie was sharp too when he had to be....... Butler is a hard-nosed type of player that I'd have on my team any day of the week. I like that kind of shit and comes to play BUT but after that hit near the benches the fans behind the penalty were really giving it to him. Then he started yapping back with the fans which is a no-no. The announcer mentioned Columbus would be putting a stop to that sort of behavior but it was funny lol

Very encouraging game from the Gens today. Game 1 had you feeling like you would've rather missed the playoffs and got a 10% chance at 1st overall but today was a complete 180 and I'm sure they got a lot from that going forward. Butler and Roobroeck got easily sucked into the dumb shit after the whistle far too often in game 1 and happened to Roobroek again late today too and cost the Gens a chance to come back. Gens are one of the most physical teams in the league despite being one of the youngest teams in the league so this is a good learning experience as you need to know that players like Stonehouse will also throw a shot and then run away and will never answer for anything they do, ever. You can't let those rat type players get to you, especially in a playoff game. Oster stood on his head both games. Gens look like they really have something there. Leaver wasn't bad in game 1 but Guelph went to their young goalie today in game 2 which makes me think they know Leaver is going to school next year or else you would've went back to Leaver knowing he'd be your goalie next year when they're going to be good

IMO Oster was the player of the game followed by MacKenzie. I think both goalies needed to make some pretty spectacular plays.

The reality is, Ottawa has a couple players thaty love the rat role. They are chippy but not dirty. Stonehouse is ”A Class” at it but Foster, Sirman, and Gerrior are pretty good at it too. None of them are near big enough to really stand there and go toe to toe, more Guerrilla warfare types. That said, Sirman did get a couple games for four fights.

Ottawa has been really good at maintaining discipline. Oshawa? Not so much. That is one of the major factors.

Ottawa isn’t a very old team but they play with pace. They don’t necessarily have a bunch of fast skaters but the team moves at pac, attacks at pace, and defends at pace. It makes it difficult for opposing teams to get enough time and space. However, if the 67’s let down or relent at all, they can be taken advantage of because of the younger age. There can be some mismatches, especially on the road without last change. They aren’t all that deep up front with Boucher and Barlas out so they have 5 of 11 forwards dressed as 16 or 17 year olds. That can be exploited in the right situations.

The big difference in the series is defensive play. Oshawa missing two key players on the back end. It is very evident. On top of that, as much as I love Danford, he is 16 years old. He will make mistakes as well.

Gotta love the top end of the Gens draft. Senneke and Danford? Elite scouting and drafting. I love those two guys. Two guys to build a franchise around without any doubt. Even Bedkowski shows promise.

But, Oster is the real deal. He will be a good one for next year and probably another as an OA.

Anybody on this board? You're supposed to be in a playoffs series against us but you wouldn't know it based on the lack of postings recently. I am sure if you guys win tomorrow night you'll be back on here. lol, It's quite possible as I did pick the Gens to win 2 games this series and the 67's played pretty shitty...

They should draw a lot better as it's the ONLY game in town. Ottawa has a lot more events and sporting teams than Oshawa (soccer, semi-pro basketball, NHL, CFL etc..) to compete for the almighty buck. Having said that, some people in Ottawa are lazy asses and make up every excuse not to drive the arena. Granted games 1 and 2 were scheduled across the river in Quebec and hardly can be considered the 67's home rink but it's not like they fill the old 10,000 seat arena anyways. You'd think a traditional rivalry would have enough interest in watching a 67's vs. Generals but people had other ideas. I rag on Ottawa fans a lot (I am allowed to as I was born and raised there lol) especially passive Sens fans who allow Leaf fans to take over their home barn but I also have a few bones to pick with Toronto after living there for almost 15 years.

That comes with them having 2.5 times the population though. Leafs play home will still be a big crowd.

Ottawa got 6,200 fans out for the final home game of the year vs. Barrie. I don't think you can really judge the support for the 67s based on attendance in Gatineau. More fans will come out when the 67s move back to their home rink and as they progress in the playoffs. The Senators' playoff aspirations are rapidly diminishing to a big fat "no chance", so pretty soon the 67s will be the only game in town. Can't find the numbers, but my recollection is that in 2019 they were getting 7-8,000 for the conference finals and 8-9,000 for the OHL finals. I suspect Ottawa will get roughly the same this year if they progress that far.

Apologies for hijacking the Generals thread. I do think the Generals take their only game of the series this evening, 4-2 with an EN.

General win tonight 5-3 (EN)

No they won't. It's a rare Tuesday night game and Gens (along with most teams) stop selling group tickets once the playoffs start so it usually takes a couple weeks (or a round) for the crowds to pick up. Add in it's the 8 vs the 1 and very little chance to not get blown out, let alone win, and it won't be a big crowd at all for the Gens tonight or Thursday

I had ST in Ottawa all through the 80s and 90s, when the owners of the 67s considered promotions and advertising to be quite unseemly. Back when the owner had seats right beside the exit to the dressing rooms and could glare at the team as they went off (not much need of that.) Sunday and Tuesday night games were like one of those post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies. Lots of parking!!!

So far your predictions are correct. Smallish crowd for sure.

Earl and Howard glared at the players? And Killer??

Key line from the broadcasters for this game…

”Careful, don’t Sudbury Wolves yourselves!”

Sudbury scored on their own open net during a delayed penalty in Game One Vs Peterborough.
