Hopefully this is allowed, so if it is not feel free to delete this.

I wish just thinking the other day, about some of the difficult times Canada will face in the upcoming months. If I have conversed with you, I know I have the tendency to be abrasive, and post without thinking, so I if I offended anyone I Apologise. It was not my intention.

Having said that, we are all Canadian, and we just have to come together, and do the best we can. There will be rough patches ahead, but I honestly believe (in spite of what a very vocal minority of Canadians say), we are still one of the best countries in the World, and will will prevail at the end. So hang in there. We are all in this together. We're going to get through this.

Apparently we can't say anything negative about the USA, or we will be punished. This is what happens when we live in a US culturally dominant society.

With all the uncertainty ahead, it's time for us Canadians to truly unite and solidify a national identity, one that is fully distinguishable from south of the 49th. This needs to come in the form of political, cultural, linguistic (hello enforcement of Canadian English everyone), etc. movements.

I love being Canadian no matter where I live 🇨🇦🇨🇦

I mean, if things go badly for the US (and it's difficult to see how they won't, the way things are going) then maybe. But even then, I think rich, white men will probably be just fine - and most hockey players fall into that group.

Every generation lives through tough times. I'll take a weak dollar and a trade war over actual world wars any day

Compared to what our ancestors have been through, we'll be fine. Maybe it'll even rejuvenate some national pride and cultural identity as a nation that seems to be on the decline

thinking it’s “one guy”
it is the MAJORITY of America.

the majority are either malevolent or they are ignorant self obsessed dupes.

pretending the small minority of progressives in America speak for this evil ignorant fear mongering hate filed violent MAJORITY… and that “most americans” aren’t like that…is how we got here.

Manitoba is in a good spot to weather the storm so to speak. We are fairly divisified in what we do and if we play our cards right with Hydro,Foresty,mining and Oil/Gas we should come out of this strong.

The main goal down there is to crash the stock market. Hedge funds are betting billions that will happen and the supe rich are ready to pluck the carcass of 401ks when people panic

Remember the famous quote from Stalin ... "Those who vote decide nothing ... those who count the vote decide everything"

Short term goals, I agree, that's partly it.

But I think long term, by having Canada an extension of the US, it makes it easier to strip the raw resources that companies like Musk need. So on that part, an economic war might make sense.

Maybe that's just my pessimistic side showing, but I have a feeling these events are just the beginning.

I understand the circumstances, but could we please dial down the anti-american sentiment? My wife and her family are American, and two of my kids were born there. I lived in the deep south for 10 years and made many friends with many kind and intelligent people.

why don’t you tell all your kind intelligent friends to stop attacking Canada… then the anti american sentiment will probably stop.

I don't think it's the majority. I'll be curious to see the approval numbers over the next year or so. I'm hearing lots of buyers remorse.
