No, they don't hate european fans. They simply don't care about European fans in this case because there is a more pressing domestic reason for the change. This is by far more important for people right next to the stadium in Detroit not overrunning the streets to get to LCA and Comerica at 5:30-7.

Honestly, this is the difference between 1am and 2am for Barcelona or Sweden or anything else GMT+2. If you're staying up until 1am to watch it, you'd be staying up until 2am to watch it.

I was just in Barcelona, it's 6 hours ahead of EST. And that would be 7pm->1am and 8pm->2am. Unless you're talking end of the game. I'm just saying that if you were going to stay up for 1a-3a, what on earth would preclude you from being up one hour later?

Yeah, Norway, Sweden, and at least Barcelona area of Spain are GMT +2.

The whole point of all this was though... they're making this change for the domestic security of getting people around that area of downtown Detroit and not sparing a thought for what it means internationally. Because it is very relevant to police patrols, crowd control, and getting around in Detroit and it is not very relevant in Norway or Sweden or Finland.

Would I think that they hated America if they adjusted the start time of an SEL game for some other event? Nope. Not for one second.
