Slavin is a great player on both sides of the puck. He’s about Carolina’s MVP and I can’t believe he hasn’t won a Norris. Consistent and really stood out for Canada in the 4 Nations tournament too.

He’s American. But he certainly is a great defenseman. Probably the best pure defensive defenseman in the league. He’s pretty good offensively too. He would be a Norris winner if he’s on a number of different teams.

That elbow had intent on a vulnerable goalie in the middle of another play in front of him. That wasn't coincidental contact.

The league is so hypocritical with their stances. The headshot elbow concerns are all show, they clearly allow specific players to get away with persistent stuff like this.

Why allow in quotes, he clearly faced little to no punishment for multiple offenses across multiple seasons now.

I don't know the incentive, but he clearly faces little response from the league. The league allows headshots to continually occur and have very uneven application of discipline. This from a league 10-15 years ago that was supposedly serious about concussions and trying to eliminate the dirty shit from the game at least to some extent.

The problem with the play is that you can't prove that Bennett did that deliberately, but everybody knows that he did. It's why you have reviews of plays after the fact - sure, it would be hard for a referee to spot that in real time, it should've been called a penalty but wasn't.

The league gives the benefit of the doubt to the piece of shit players and pretty much always has except when Shanahan was running things. Otherwise DoPS has always been run by ex-thugs.

Yeah I don't even think Campbell's son plays a role in this but it's an easy leap to make since the NHL is as good an old boys' network as there is, they just almost always look the other way with 95% of the rough stuff unless you're in the black book a la Timo against Nashville and the game suspension he got for that, when far less has gone unpunished.

The game is on ESPN not ESPN+. Those are two seperate things. You have to have a cable package with ESPN to get it,
