Much as I hate Carolina, if the Caps keep getting outshot 34 to 14, they’re not going to be in this series long. I am stunned by how lifeless Washington was tonight.

That caps performance…yeesh. Our game1 was even worse but at least we had the injuries and a tough season…caps are fully healthy and won their division.

Slavin is a great player on both sides of the puck. He’s about Carolina’s MVP and I can’t believe he hasn’t won a Norris. Consistent and really stood out for Canada in the 4 Nations tournament too.

He doesn't put up enoigh points on offense. You basically need to be top 3 in points for defensmen to have a chance to win the Norris Trophy. I can't off the top of my head think of anyone to win it outside of the top 3 in the last 15 years.
With advanced stats and all the other ways to track a player's impact on the game, it's time the NHL starts to give out a trophy for best defensive defensman. Slavin would of won that thing a few times by now...
