Because it would be a very Devils thing to pull one out in Carolina, then get killed at home by a team that was bad on the road all season.

That or it's a 2018 repeat where we get demolished in the first 2 games and then scrap game 3, lose game 4/5 to bow out.

If LA blows this….

Skinner is shit. If the Oilers are bringing Skinner back on another contract it can’t be like the ones Daccord, Blackwood and Lankinen got.

They can dumpster dive for something cheaper and it likely won’t be much of a downgrade. I’m pretty sure Pickard is not a downgrade.

If these shit heads who run things give Skinner a similar contract to the three guys I just named then they’re f***ed.

Skinner is arguably the most lethal goaltender in the sport.

None of the other shitty goalies play on teams this good. At least not as the starters.

After the failure of a Jack Campbell contract they need to be sensible with whatever they plan to give him.

If they go out in round one then maybe they just non-tender him.

And he’s not even as young as I thought he was. Turns 27 in November.
 
The one thing that will potentially sink LA is their PP. near the bottom of the league if I am correct. Big missed opportunity to ice the game there

Been ranting about this for a while now.

I actually thought he was 25, but he turns 27 this November. All the more reason to not give him another Daccord, Blackwood, Lankinen deal.

He was the reason they kept getting put in a hole and having to battle back in I think 3 of the 4 series they had last year. He couldn’t do it in the cup finals. He let in one weak ass goal in game 7 and that was the difference. They came too close to going out to Vancouver with Silovs in net in the second round. It should have never been that close. They should never have been in danger of losing that series.

They’re better off plucking some JAG for cheap to be their goalie than pay him much more than what he’s getting right now. I’m not convinced he’s any better than Pickard.
