How did Zibanejad get so bad? I thought Dorion was a real idiot for trading him for Brassard. Zibanejad was the way better player back then and in his early 20s as opposed to almost 30 like the other guy.
I forgot what the other guy’s name was before looking it up, even though I remembered almost every team he ever played for and how he was a huge Jackets prospect who never topped out to what they wanted and broke out for a bit on the Rangers.
That’s how bad my memory is getting. I kept wanting to call him Chiasson, but it’s Brassard. It was probably the French surnames and double S’s and the fact that both played in Ottawa at separate points.

What’s weird is his edge stats suggest he can still skate and shoot so my guess is it isn’t that his physical skills have eroded. It must be between his ears
Zibanejad has been bad since at least mid-year last season. So it’s going on a full calendar year.

This might be the single worst in-season performance from a GM I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. Hilariously bad on all fronts. Lmao
God the schadenfreude will be delicious if Kakko keeps this up and becomes a legit star after the Rangers dumped him for peanuts.

"Star" is unlikely but he's definitely going to get more points by virtue of being played more than he ever was at MSG.

Presumably that's why the Devils waited until they traded him to play the MSG draft party reaction from 2019. It was never about the pick, it was about the team, especially since they ended up botching his development.
