I’m glad the Capitals have no issue beating Tampa. Must be nice.

They’re the one team that we’ve played more than once that we really don’t look all that competitive against this year.

In 22-23 it was Boston.

Can we even afford Hall? We can’t even put anybody that makes anything significant on IR.

You could swing it through retentions and sending down the goon. Maybe it takes double retention but the cap is no excuse not to be able to add a guy. It’s not like there’s no avenue to make it work.

Ok yeah with retention and all, I guess there is a way.

I guess the question would be would Hall want to be back and I'd only do it if he wants to be here.

I think so

It’s been 5 years and I don’t think he took anything that happened at the end personally.

I think the only guys he’s played with as a Devil who are still here are Nico, Bratt and Jack. And when Noesen was a Devil the first time.

Bastian had a call up or two when Hall was still here.

Everything else is different. Fitz was the assistant GM when he was last here and not a single member of the coaching staff remains. He may have run into Brylin in training camp when the AHL staff and players are on hand at the beginning of camp.

Rogalski wasn’t even here yet when Hall last played here.

Oh well if Rogalski wasn’t here yet I’m sure he will be intrigued.

He didn't really give up a softy. He earned a softy.
He SCORED the softy on himself lol. By the way, I have no idea why the Capitals keep (mostly) forcing a goalie split so far. Lindgren's numbers vs Thompson's numbers are Marty vs Cory levels of difference. They're probably sandbagging themselves and have no doubt cost themselves potentially 3-4 points by playing the goalies right down the middle and using Lindgren so much. Lindgren is a 31 year old who is only in his third full season in the NHL. Thompson definitely has the more upside, even though he was in the ECHL for a while and maybe a late bloomer and under the radar.
Chicago (pretty bad team) crunching Dallas (good team) 6-1 tonight.
I didn't know much about what happened in that game, until I started reviewing all the games this morning. That was largely due to DeSmith being absolutely brutal. If Lindgren didn't score a goal on himself and give us the softy of the year, I'm pretty sure DeSmith would have probably had a softy of the night goal.

Taylor Hall hatty, I know he left in a bad way but I'd still take him back if he was a relative cheap add.
I don't even think he left in that bad of a way. Other than calling out the fans for booing in a game we were leading/tied in and then pulling a Hulk Hogan gesture at the fans the next game after he scored.

We've had Holik and Gomez come back, who got booed loudly every game they played in New Jersey from the time they left until the time they came back.

I don't think the fans had the heat for Hall that those guys did, nor even anywhere near the same level of heat they had for Zach Parise.

If we got Taylor Hall back, the league would probably ding us for getting him back 5-6 years later when we're closer to contention, instead of keeping him and giving him the 8 year deal for $9-$11 million that we thought it might take to keep him here lol.

I'm just making a stupid joke.

Don’t worry the league wouldn’t have to do anything because they know his knee will give out immediately upon us trading for him
