Correct. Can’t move up or down in the standings.hmm I think the last 4 games really don't matter now? Hurricanes clinch home ice? Is that correct?

Things must’ve turned because our trusty “deserve to” has Caps at 65%, an entire expected goal more than the Canes, & 60/40 Caps/Canes xGF%.Canes have been the better team for most of the night it seems. Unfortunately the Caps shooting bender will never end this season.
One thing that gives me hope is the Canes goaltending.
I think the odds probably still favor them, as they’ll be 3 points up with one more game played. They have Vancouver tomorrow night and then the Ducks on Tuesday.3-0 Flames midway through. Minnesota is going to choke this away aren’t they?
They got their dynamic duo back - I think they'll squeak in for a fast exit.3-0 Flames midway through. Minnesota is going to choke this away aren’t they?
I’m not even gonna feel bad if the Columbus or the Islanders win out and tie us in points, but miss the playoffs on the tiebreaker. Will Montreal lose another 3 straight and then give opportunity to one of the 2 teams to be forced to win out (Rags/Isles) or CBJ to practically win out..
The East wildcard is crazy odd this year.

It would be the one consolation to losing out the rest of the year.
I can imagine how salty they’d be.
“We won 6 in a row to end the season, the Devils lost 5 in a row in regulation. We tied them in points and still missed the playoffs?!”.
They’d probably demand that the final week of the season should be the tiebreaker over regulation wins or ROW.
The Rangers cannot tie us in points. Only the Jackets.
Actually, the Islanders can’t either. Only the Jackets.
Caps goalie is a bum. Literally every goal was bad. Off his angle on two of them. Just stood there like the controller was disconnected on the second goal.
Says he’s 29, but he looks early 40s easy.
Only 4 NHL games played before today. And I know one of them was against us last year.
His AHL numbers over his career look solid, with the exception of this season.
One of which was a win against us last year.6 goals on 13 shots lol.
This is why he’s only played 4 NHL games before today, despite being the same age as Robert Luongo.
Take his mask off during play and this is his game face when a puck is fired at him.

Hard to see it happening at home when they still have Chicago at home and a Carolina team who might be resting everyone at home too.
Plus Rangers, Islanders and Blue Jackets won't win out either.
I thought soIslanders lost to Philly in a shootout so they are officially eliminated
I thought so
Even though the NHL standings did not have an E next to their name, but now their max is 86 points and Montreal already has 87.
They had the standings updated, but just no E next to their name like all the other teams below them. For whatever stupid reason the nhl website is slow with the standings. ESPN even has the standings listed correctly.

Maybe their software only updates that once a day?
How about Detroit? They must be eliminated too?
Actually, they aren't, until they lose a point or Montreal gains one.
