So the Devils can clinch with a Rangers loss (any kind) on Monday and a Devils win on Tuesday.

I think just the Lightning-Rangers game going to a shootout and Devils regulation win on Tuesday also clinches.

The only thing that still has to be decided is probably the Atlantic division seedings.

Unless you think the Rangers are gonna rip off a 6-0-0 finish to 91 points or the Jackets are gonna go 7-0-0 to get there.

You never do know, because there seems to be a new heater every week. Montreal looked highly questionable at the start of last weekend, but were already a couple points ahead of the other teams if I’m not mistaken.

It’s unlikely to happen. I think it’s done. Tonight settled it IMO.

Removing the rose colored glasses for a moment, it's pretty sad to see what is most likely the tail end of Crosby's career being wasted due to the Pens incompetent management over the last 6 years. A mediocre GM should have been easily been able to make that Pens roster at minimum a bubble team every year, even with their aging core. Too many painfully stupid roster moves.

Considering he's already had three Cups, it's a meh for me. Only really sad from a league marketing perspective but he's already had one of the greatest careers in history.

I was actually pitying Ovi a bit a couple years ago when it looked like they were headed to Penguins-land and considering he's only had the one Cup it seemed a bit sad he'd try to set the scoring record in obscurity, at least that hasn't been the case.

I was actually pitying Ovi a bit a couple years ago when it looked like they were headed to Penguins-land and considering he's only had the one Cup it seemed a bit sad he'd try to set the scoring record in obscurity, at least that hasn't been the case.

It IS satisfying that he's doing it with games which have meaning for the team and not a lottery pick team.

Yeah the magic number for a playoff spot is three if I'm looking at the standings correctly since the max for either Columbus or the Rangers is 91 points and we're at 89 now.

That’s the first time that there’s been that kind of disparity between the Canadiens and the other teams. I’ve been checking every day.

I think they’ve had the Canadiens around 50% for the last few days, with the Rangers still around 30%, until today.
