OOT Scoreboard 2024-25 season - part II

the East is not very good this year, and is wide open

which is why I think this "wildcard team at best!" stuff is crazy. A) I don't agree and B) even if we are the WC1 team, do the Leafs really scare you?

They also have the third best goalie currently in the playoffs when Markstrom is back (fingers crossed), second best if Tampa Bay somehow misses which I don't think they will. All this bad luck/dumb shit isn't going to happen the rest of the year. If it does, then there's nothing you can literally do about it lol

Canes won't be a TRUE problem as long as their goalie is Freddie Andersen

Against us, who knows. Their style destroys us but I still think they'll more up for playing Carolina this time around as opposed to being f***ing exhausted in 2023. They also need a few deadline adds, Carolina is done adding so we know what we'll see if we get them round 1.

We got some help tonight when it comes to having some cushion room with a wild card spot.

Im suprised JJ Peterka has only 35 points in 47 games. Seems like he is always getting on the scoresheet when I watch the highlights every morning. He would look good on Jack or Nico's wing.

Buffalo has so many young forwards. I'm not quite sure what moves they are going to make before the deadline. Jack Quinn would be another player to possibly target if we can get him for cheap. Could be a good reclamation project.

A contender does not lose 4-1 to Chicago
Tampa have been struggling as much as us, if not even more the last month. They also got swept out of California and the Hawks the other night are one of their only two wins over the last 2.5 weeks.

Now I’m wondering if John Cooper gets let go after this year. Playoffs or not.

And if that happens then maybe the Rangers get him instead of Mike Sullivan.

I have to ask, I’ll be heading to Buffalo for a work convention at the end of March and think I’ll attend the Sabres game the night before. Any recommendations on where to go around the area?
I probably wouldn't be the best guy to ask as I don't live in the area. There's a casino near the arena if that's your thing. The main bar/restaurant area is on Chippewah. Anchor Bar is a tourist trap but if you are visiting worth checking out. Chef's would be my recommendation for lunch/dinner and their famous Spaghetti Parmigiano. There's the Buffalo Zoo. The AAA Bisons open their season in late March so that could be an option:

Of course you could do an excursion to Niagara Falls, but I'd strongly advise going to the Canadian side as the US side is pretty shitty.

If you go to KBC be advised they have a bullshit no bags policy, but if you take medication bring it with you and due to ADA they will let you in.

Hope that helps.

Cooper is not taking the Rags job with the garbage veterans they have under contract lmao

Grubauer is so bad at this point that I feel guilty even laughing at him anymore. 5 goals on 12 shots against the Ducks.

And Daccord has considerably above average numbers there. Grubauer is probably even worse than the 2020 Cory Schneider at this point. I’m thinking he might be closer to the 2025 Cory Schneider, who has been retired for two years.

It’s still a joke we only score 3 on him each time. Last few games he’s played he’s either allowed 5 or 6 or 3 in the first 6 minutes of the game.

Why wouldn’t he? They’d pay him a ton.

That’s only if Tampa lets him go.

If not then Mike Sullivan seems like a good bet.

They've had 3 coaches that their core has quit on, Jon Cooper is not going there. Sure Sullivan might but maybe even he might be hesitant after seeing Quinn/Gallant/Lavi not being able to get through that core. The coach was/is never their problem. It's their core, it was evident when they lost to us in 2023. Also Cooper/Sullivan will get better job offers than NYR
