Prospect Info: 2024-25 Kings Prospects in CHL/College/Europe

Just an update, because I didn't see it mentioned. Slukynsky named to Richter Award watch list. He also made 24 saves to beat No. 14 North Dakota, 5-1.

So in drafting Woolley the KIngs are getting a potential future meathead for the defense likely our 7 D-man in 4-5 years...oh joy

Does he have any other talents like playing hockey and Defense

I understand this tournament is typically for the older players, but I can't understand why Greentree and a couple of the other top draft picks didn't even make the preliminary roster for Canada
Politics have crept up into hockey Canada

With Prospects like Kirsanov Not sure why he wouldn't sign another contract for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod it's not like he's been a regular and is ready for the NHL...and at the AHL level he'll be a 6-7 Dman so what the hell is that the AHL is not a step up from the KHL

As far as the Kings prospect Jack Hughes goes why won't he just play another year of college and then sign with the Kings after he scores a tonne more than he has in the past to give himself a better opportunity to make it as a 4th liner cause I don't see him being anything more than that

What?!
He has a ton of ability.
He really moves well. Did you see that goal he scored, recently? Driving to the net and had really nice hands.

I saw him at last scrimmage before juniors were returned and he looked very poised. Hits hard too. He’s #1 onLondon right now plus / minus. +38. Higher than 1st round London draftees O’Reilly, Dickinson and Bonk. He’s still 18 and doesn’t turn 19 until 6/27

I see Chris Pronger light when he’s 22.
He’s 6’5 210 now. He’s going to be top4

Not sure what you're seeing but Pronger? I be happy is he's a top 5

I honestly don’t know who to compare him to.
He’s no project type.
He has true upside. London has a good team and program. Pretty impressive to be #1 on that team in plus / minus his first full yr.
He’s putting up some pts, but Dickinson and Bonk get the prime minutes and pp.

I’d like to hear an update from Yannetti.
I suspect May not hear him until near the draft.
If I’m making a 5 prospect list that is untouchable in deals, he’s on that list for me.

Maybe Kevin Hatcher? lol
Unless he really gets physical and thats
Derien Hatcher. I think if he has confidence and really is one to push himself, he’s going to be a force.

Sincerely hope your right about Woolley...so in 4 years you see him in LA or sooner? As of right now the pecking order should be Dvorak and Booth ahead of Woolley...maybe Kirsanov...in a "years" time the aforementioned Dvorak and Booth will be nearly completing their 2nd seasons in the AHL while 23 year old Kirsanov is doing up his rookie season...And with the Kings needing to sign Gavrikov while having Anderson and Edmundsen under contract their is only so many spots available...the last time the Kings drafted a Diamond in the rough(3rd rounder or later) was like forever ago that I can't remember...Gary Sargent?KImmo Timonen,Jere Karalahti(too bad he couldn't stay away from the stuff)?I got it Rob Blake was LA's Diamond in the Rough back in 1988 and he along with Brandt Clarker remind him of himself

Trying not to get too attached to Hammer, Ziemmer, Greentree, or our next two 1sts.
The way this team is playing I'm not sure Blake will see the end of the season honestly and they sure the hell are not going past the first round with Lewis,Jeanott in the line up for the love of Gesu...Hopefully with Drew coming back it will interject some experience and help the Powerless PP though we have seen glimpses of jelling

Slukynsky had his first career NCAA shutout last night.

Ziemmer also heating up. Now has 4 goals in 5 games.
So right now currently George is 18,Slukynsky is 19 and Portillo is 24...so the 2 youngsters represent the future 5-6 years down the road in LA...while Portillo represents next year country with Kuemper...hopefully the Kings can build a good/great Defense in front cause our Offense needs more young blood, speedsters and scorers and the focus come draft time should be on that...Greentree was a good pick but perhaps LA needs to go to Russia to get some ready made young vets to help with scoring cause sometimes we look totally inept

Big Mac w/ a little better puck skills might be a good compare. Big Mac played D & LW.

I do see the Pronger comp with Wooley.
Obviously he doesn't have the hall of famer potential of Pronger. But he does seem to have ALL the tools like Pronger did. He's big, has a nasty side to him, has a decent shot, skates well, good instincts, solid defensively. He can play in all situations and have a positive impact on the game and I think that's pretty rare.

Now I don't think he's a future number 1... But I can see him finding success with Spence or Clarke 5 on 5, and being a guy that can play the PP and SH and just be a stabilizing force on that back end, not spectacular but able to surprise people at times.

I think that’s a solid assessment of his upside based on what we’ve seen so far. He’s on a pretty steep learning curve though so it’ll be interesting.
