He probably didn't have many options. I'm trying to think of who had vacancies. His second most recent team in Nashville was one. Calgary? I think they may have immediately named Huska, who was already an in-house guy after blasting Sutter.

He probably didn't have many options last year, at least not for any kind of significant money like the Rangers threw at him.

Feels like if Mike Sullivan coaches in Pittsburgh next year, he may just coach in Manhattan in 2025-2026.

Any chance if Pittsburgh lets him go after this year they'll punt Lavi after one season to hire Sullivan? Maybe they knew Lavi was nothing more than a hopeful place holder for Sullivan?

If he didn't take the Rangers job last summer, I wonder if Edmonton brings him after they fired Woodcroft? Especially in the chance the Rangers promoted Knoblauch instead?

Next to no shot he goes there, he's not gonna deal with the Rangers veterans at all

The Rangers goal horn is weird, since technically this isn't a home game, even though it really is a home game. They're just not allowed to be the home team, because MSG refuses to lose a gate over this.

Are they playing the horns for both teams? I've kind of tuned out the noise and can't remember. I did happen to notice the Rangers horn on that last goal though.

Did they have the Flyers goal horn when they scored last night? I know they had ours, but it was barely noticeable. And if we didn't have a live band in-house playing the goal song, I may not even noticed that.

Islanders average attendance has gone up by quite a lot! So has ours!

This may be one of the worst games I've seen the Rangers play this year. And they've had some bad ones.

Yeah our game was much better handled. They let Gritty be there to do stuff with the NJ Devil, which honestly was cool but rest of the game it was clearly our home game
The initial rumor behind the game was Devils v Rangers. I wonder if our organization protested and then ESPN said they could make room for two telecasts and they made it a doubleheader weekend.

They always make tickets available to the visiting fans for these events given the stadium sizes. But I’m glad our game got to be agains the Flyers and we got a proper home game. Honestly, I don’t think I would have come up for Devils v Rangers.

Wow they said Shesterkin has given up the most glove side goals in the NHL. That's pretty nuts. You know by his standards this is a super sub par season but the Rangers are a fine team even with him not playing at his best.

I heard the Islanders horn. The Rangers can’t be the designated home team because then the MSG loses their tax exemption in NY. The most ridiculous was Buffalo being named the home team for the game at Citi Field.

Igor is still breaking above even on both moneypuck and evolving hockey. Just barely better on evolving hockey.

But today’s game could potentially put him under water if he gives up a couple or three more goals.

So this is basically the same Isles team as before Roy? Who would have thought?
I’m not even sure why Roy is considered a good coach. Because he’s successful with coaching teenagers (and putting out contracts on their lives?6 and was an all time great player?

He won the Jackass Adams in 2014, all the way the entire analytics community (which was much smaller at the time) easily predicted their demise the next season. And they never made the playoffs again under him.

And they still didn’t have the balls to fire him in Colorado. He had to quit on like September 1st. Before the upcoming year.
