Idiot fans. USA! USA! USA! It's NOT an international event.

Yeah, it's kind of stupid. Most of the players on BOTH teams are not from the USA anyway. So it's pretty lame that people make this a USA vs Canada game, simply because of the cities/countries these teams play out of.

And I also find it weird that they play both anthems only based off of where the team is out of. I think they should either play both anthems every game all over the league, just because the league is comprised of teams from both nations or they should just play the anthem for whatever country the game is being played in. Of course for border cities I think it's fine to play both.

But I always thought it was weird that they have the Canadian anthem only because Toronto (or some other Canadian based team) is in the building or they have the American anthem in Toronto just because New Jersey is playing in the building that night.

I don't super strongly believe in any of this though.
