My newest pet peeve hockey trope is “team of destiny”.

Every single bounce is going their way in their little Ozone time. If that continues to the Cup then yes, its destiny shit. There is luck involved sometimes in hockey in these small sample series, boy howdy are we seeing it in these last two series .

For as lucky as they've gotten, that 2nd goal was just a bunch of miscues from Florida. Whoever was on Fox purposely slid out of the way the lane for a shot block that was never gonna be scored on. Also doesn't help Mikkola and Kulkov have been f***ing horrid this series.

This is what people say about every team that makes a deep run despite being outplayed by opponents, including Florida last year when they won like seven straight OT games. How often do those teams actually win the whole thing?

Also, there aren't any unseen forces at play here. There's nothing mysterious going on...things just happen to be going their way at the right time and their goalie is stealing games for them. 99% of the time that's not enough to win it all. We will see if this team bucks that trend.

No, Panthers were running through teams after game 4 of Bruins last postseason, even in close games they were the obvious better team. They weren’t getting severely outplayed EVERY gm like this Rags team
