at a certain point you are out of gas. Tampa had nothing left by the end. The halt and the lame and Vasilevsky. While Colorado has so much more in the tank. Fine and entertaining game that the better, more dangerous and healthier team won.

Going to be interesting to see if Tampa can extend the series on Friday night.
Yeah. I've used the term out of gas a lot, but they LITERALLY look out of gas right now. This is the definition of out of gas.

They've got bodies missing, the bodies that are playing are beat up and just don't look like they got much left to give in these playoffs.

I look for Colorado to put them out of their misery on Friday night, but it's Tampa, you can't count them out and rule out them bringing it back to Tampa for one more game.

You can't completely rule them out coming back to win, but Vasilevskiy is gonna have to be even better than he was in the Florida series.

He's been the better goalie in this series and yet his team is still down 3 games to 1. That tells you all you need to know about who the better team has been in this series. Who the WAAYYYYY better team has been in this series.

I usually don't change my series winner prediction after 3-1 (unless you're the Panthers and I instantly change my mind in the 2nd period of game 1) in a series. Unless it's 3-0, but not at 3-1.

But that's exactly why I feel like it's over for them.

That's EXACTLY how they look. Like they're beat up, out of gas, injured, etc. Injuries in the lineup, injuries out of the lineup. It's ugly.

I didn't think they were good tonight either. Vasilevskiy was their best player by quite a bit.

The only way they were winning this game was if Kuemper gave up another softy. He almost did to Hagel, but got beamed in the mask with it.
Point is out. Kucherov was already banged up before the Toews cross check in game 2, and looked like a shell out there tonight. The lost Cernak this game, and Cirelli is playing with one arm. On top of that is the usual playoff bumps and bruises. That’s a lot for any team to overcome.

Tampas bodies are so worn out from short offseasons. It's the price of winning 2 cups in a row
Yeah, while those two seasons where they won have been shortened, the offseasons have also been short.

MAYBE the 2020 offseason from the end of the finals through the start of training camp was pretty nearly the same length of an offseason as a team that wins the cup around June 10th-15th and starts training camp the next September 15th or so, but the 2021 offseason for them wasn't even 10 weeks long from the time the cup was awarded until training camp opened.

I can’t give Vasilevskiy a stoppable goal on the OT winner. Kadri cuts in and is out of the circle (or almost out of it) by the time he shoots against a moving Vasilevskiy that opens up his blocker arm as he’s moving across. Very close range and Kadri is just cutting right in on him.

Only stoppable goal was Hedman on Kuemper.

Losing both overtime games is arguably the mortal blow to Tampa. I always think that to win a series a club should at least split the overtime wins. That's 2 of Colorado's three wins right there. But this OT wasn't even close. It was just shooting fish in a barrel with a semi automatic, pumping the shots into the water. Sooner or later one of those bullets was going to hit a fish. I mean they'd already hit a post and a cross bar dead on from a few feet out and had a breakaway too before Kadri ended it. I can't remember another overtime where one of the clubs was more dominant. It looked like a power play the whole time.

If thats too many men then there will be a dozen too many men calls per game.

Also, if we are going by a technicality, Tampa had 7 skaters on the ice on that same play LOL. Yes I know Tampa didn’t have possession, but still funny.

Edit: OH, it was Kadri that came on? Ok, that may indeed be a blatant too many men lmao. Oops.

Oh my god, they’re really going with it. They won’t be happy until every single goal scored can be overturned on a technicality.

“damning footage” my god man

Tough way to lose a pivotal game...I wouldn't be happy with the non call if I was Tampa fan.... it's pretty blatantly too many men on the ice

You telling me that you wouldn't be screaming bloody murder if the Devil's lost a game 4 to go down 3-1 off a goal that came off of an obvious too many men?

The guy that scored is the guy that came on for the guy that didn't get off the ice...how much more of a blatant too many men can you get?

I have no issues with their actual game production, but their intermissions are boring. They don't have a post game show (even NBCSN would have the post game when the game was on the regular NBC channel) or a pre game show (I don't think they have a pregame, do they?). They had a few personalities like Torts and Subban was supposed to be working for ESPN for the playoffs, but neither were on game telecasts.
Yea it’s the intermissions for me. ESPN is bad across all sports with intermissions, and TNTs crew is incredible.

Nope, I don't think that should be too many men. He's already on his way off the ice. I personally think too many men should only be called when it's really blatant, that wasn't. It's not like Mackinnon had any effect on the goal (assuming that is Mackinnon at the bench).
Not for nothing, but how many offside calls that have absolutely no impact on the goal, cause a goal to be called back? It doesn't matter if it had any impact or not.

Yeah people are still complaining about the Bernier call ten years later

The way that Tampa got owned in that overtime, they have nothing to bellyache about. I can safely say that I have never seen a more lopsided overtime in more than 50 years of watching playoff hockey. It looked like Colorado was on the power play, and a good power play, the entire time.

You just have to tip your hat to the Avalanche because of how dominant they became when they had the chance to all but put Tampa away in this series. Which is just what they did. And judging from the explosive post goal celebration they know it. They can taste it now.

Yup. They have 3 shots to get that cup now.

I think they'll want to put the hammer down at home in front of their fans as they do not want the Bolts to gain back any sort of momentum.
