After watching all of these series, I really see no reason why a healthy Blackwood behind a good team can't be as good as Vas or Shesterkin. His rebound control, when he played with confidence is better. He's bigger. He's a better athlete and before the heel thing could move side to side with the best of them and cover alot of ground. When playing with confidence he controls the game well - decent stick handler, makes good decisions. When defenders in front of him do their job and take away passes and use their stick - he's been really effective. His glove might be a bit of a question, but I think it is at least average. He's just coming into his prime.
I watch Smith, Kuemper, Francouz out there booting it around - I watch Shesterkin and Vas playing behind defenses where all 6 defenders are probably better than anyone we have on our team at defending, clearing the crease, blocking shots etc.
I'm actually pretty hyped about MB29 if we get our act together, he has a strong healthy offseason and gets a tiny bit of his confidence and swagger back after having such a shitshow in front of him for the past years.
