I haven't had the pleasure of catching any Reign games yet. How's Turc looking? It seems like some of the older guys like Tynan, JAD, and Frk have been getting the top minutes/PP usage just from looking at the stats/box scores.

He plays as recklessly as Lizotte but with 4x the skill.

He's an absolute madman out there, it's fun as hell to watch, but he's a hockey player's hockey player--most of the stuff he does makes things easier for everyone else to score, yet he won't get the assist. Amazing 3 zone work, absolutely elite IQ and support plays. It's odd that the points aren't there because many of the plays you see finish start with him.

Starting to be more worried about his size because he's fearless and just doesn't seem to be growing/gaining weight yet. But if he survives, lol...he's a fan favorite in waiting. His enthusiasm has to be infectious and will be a huge change for a roster full of poopy diaper no fun vets.

One thing I notice about Turcs is his honesty and the way he credits the player who score especially when he's on the ice close to the puck. If you watch some of the highlights you'll see him pointing to the scorer. That is really rare and I bet the guys love him for that. You hardly ever see that in hockey and that's a leader right there. Turcotte may not score as much as we'd like, but kid is so damn likeable and just a ball of energy. Love Turcs and really really hope he turns into a great all around player. I believe playing with the Reign is going to be really good for him. Yeah some players can jump right into the NHL but a player like Turcotte will benefit from time in the minors.

Silent movie highlights. Reign win 5-2, undefeated in regulation to go to 7-0-1

I hope Frk gets another shot. Just because I'm a fan. Wrobleweski's got this team playing really well. I believe Byfield will get a conditioning stint and Thomas will come back soon this team looks real good so far.

Just way too much losing last year. I'm just happy these kids are actually winning now and starting to build that mentality. It's much needed in the organization.

Can someone explain TJ Tynan to me? Was he drafted? What's his story....

29 year old AHL vet, signed this off season, AHL MVP last season.

A large part of the Reign's success this season is simply due to better veteran AHL guys, which is not a bad thing, as it insulates the prospects and puts them in a position to grow and succeed.

The Reign's success right now is something I've been preaching about for a while, especially last year when so many were dumbfounded about the Reigns poor start with so many young players. The fire Wrobo was being thrown out there right off the bat. The best AHL teams have a good mix of seasoned pros (NHL tweeners on NHL contracts and AHL only contracts), solid goaltending (Reign goalies killing it right now), and talented youth. Year after year this is the formula for success in the AHL. We have to be honest here. While many of the kids are playing well and contributing, it's the veteran players that are driving the offense (Tynan, Frk, Burke, to some extent Wagner) with Turcotte, Fagemo, JAD and Madden contributing and solid. The latter are certainly getting good offensive chances, but the little nuisances by the more experienced pro players are finishing better. On D, Durzi has been a bit inconsistent overall, but doing well. Moverare is really steady. Grans and Spence are learning. Villalta is having a tremendous bounce back year. He leads the AHL in wins, and made several highlight reel saves last night. Sparks solid too.

frk still being down is a bit of a question mark to me though i can't claim to have watched reign games, just seems like every night i see the reign results, there's another frk goal

i understand there's a bit of a glut of wingers/centers-on-wing with the big club right now but that shot is deadly. seems logical to have frk/kaliyev 1-2 on the pp units

suppose it's more about the youth insulation like regulate says?

I was at last nights game and he scored with that elite NHL shot but I also saw him make incredibly bad passes that led to breaks the other way but JAD was also guilty of that so..

I was not impressed with Madden nor Grans.. Durzi is your classic AAAA guy while Wagner and Phillips are complete shit

Wagner? Didn't he get the footrace to the shorthanded breakaway then following up with setting up Durzi for the shorthanded goal?
