Near the end Thomas handling the puck reminded me of Brown and a live grenade...nerves I guess,he'll get better

Didn’t watch but from the sounds of things, the Reign are the minor league version of the Edmonton Oilers the past 10 years. No defense/goaltending

Kupari, Byfield and Madden really stood out for me. Amazing what a difference a year makes Kupari is really asserting himself. These kids are growing together win or lose once they all mature and start to build chemistry it's going to be a thing of beauty. They outplayed the Runners all game in my opinion. But a lot of whiffs and missed opportunities. Like many have said the D with Phillips, Alt, Gaunce, etc. are no bueno. But I have to admit glad I sacrificed 35 bucks and a week of grocery money to watch the kids lose. Definitely worth it. Seriously stinks Byfield and AK34 will have to leave once the O starts. Never before have I been so giddy after a lost.

The good thing is with the Kings schedule, you're getting a game at least every other day it seems. There are 6 more Reign games before the end of the month. I don't think AK or QB have to return to the OHL before then. At the very least they get 2 more weeks of pro training and experience.

I didn't get to see the game but minus the shitty goaltending and the shuffling of D between clubs, this is exactly what we should have expected from the Reign, no? Loads of talent, but loads of talent playing pros vs. men in NA for the first time and the first time together. Zero chemistry and precious little pro experience is a big deal, have no doubts it's all gonna click.

Yup this is why I finally decided on get the package. I won't eat for a week but I get to see the big club lose and then see the kids stink it up. Well worth it.

Pretty much. You can see the talent on this team all three lines centered by Turcotte, Byfield and kupari had some grade A chances. But as bolded above they need to gel and once they do it's going to be fun to watch.

Will Kupari end up RW in NHL or will they keep him C since they seem to still be developing him to play there in ahl. What do you think?

He's older and more experienced at the pro level than Turcotte and Byfield which may be why he's playing C in Ontario, but long term I think we'd all expect him to shift to wing.

Byfield is probably the 1C, so I assume one of Vilardi and Turcotte go W as well. Which one you think will end up 2C?

Although these kids got some pre-season games, this year has throw all teams (in both the NHL and AHL) head first into the deep end with hardly any time for practices, systems, and getting to know their new teammates.

Not to justify loses wether it's The Kings or The Reign, but it's going to take time for these young players to really come together and start to win, lose, and battle as a team.

Also of note, boy do we need to start drafting some quality defensemen with the next 2 drafts!

I would imagine we see Byfield and Turcotte down the middle. Hopefully Kopitar at 3C down the road.

Kaliyev - Byfield - Madden
Kempe - Turcotte - Vilardi
Fagemo - Kopitar - Kupari
Grundstrom - JAD - Thomas
Dudas

I know this roster is unlikely to actually ever come about, but every single one of the prospects listed has a legitimate shot at playing in the NHL. Hell, besides Dudas, I think they could all do it today. I think Madden will end up being one of our best trades ever.

I have to admit, I like Byfield more and more with every game I see him play. Sure he makes rookie mistakes and what not, but he plays the game at a level of speed and power above anyone else on either the Reign or any opponent they've played so far. I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly, but when he carries the puck or skates into a play, there's force behind his movements. That element along with his agility and emerging skill set is really good to see. Had that sick between the legs back pass to Thomas for the goal as well.

Granted he hasn't dominated the game offensively, but it's not hard to see why he's seen as a potentially special player. At some point the numbers have to come, but I'm creeping up on the Byfield hype train.
