Well the Reign are like the Kings at this stage but at least there is hope! Can't say that about the Parent club!

Would've preferred a win obviously, but there was a lot to like there. Still a very young team that needs time to gel but the skill was evident

This year's Reign squad is already more skilled and fun to watch in one game then the whole kings organization in the last 4 years.

who was the last King homegrown forward that EITHER reached their potential, OR overachieved?
Kopitar? Toffoli? meh. Pearson, Meh. Good freaking grief.

I'm talking where's our Kaprizov, basically. Or thereabouts.

I may be the only one that thinks it wouldn't be a bad thing at all if the OHL don't start anytime soon, because Byfield and Kaliyev really don't need to go back. Can they play the whole year in the AHL? Both kids have nothing to prove in Juniors and should be with the Reign all year.

Madden is a magician with the puck, only a matter of time for him

Madden had some good moments and was one of the better forwards for the Reign for sure. Highly skilled player. I thought Byfield, Thomas and Kupari also had good showings. I thought Turcotte had flashes, but he tried a lot of 1-on-1 moves that didn't really work. He definitely needs to continue to bulk up and get stronger. He had a chance or two though and made some nice plays. The rest of the forwards were meh. Kaliyev had a nice shot, but didn't notice him much other than that. Same with Fagemo. Had a break away but not much else.

Just my opinion, but I thought the ONT defense as a whole was not very good. Phillips was bad... like real bad. Durzi was below-average. The rest were meh.

Meh, just got outgoalied, Thompson was phenomenal, stuffed every single one of our top prospects on A opportunities at least once.
With the Goaltending equipment gotten stupidly super huge the times we see goals on breakaways are practically dead!

I like the idea of Byfield and Kaliyev playing in the AHL but would rather the Reign go to 10 forwards and 8 D-men so that are youngsters get plenty of ice time and develop, who cares about Brett Sutter,B Byron, etc

I thought the game was well played by both sides. It was tight checking and had an NHL feel. They capitalized on our mistakes; we had our chances but couldn't score on them. Give credit to their goalie, he stole one for them.

As far as our players At 18 years old I thought Byfield was our best forward. Played a 200 foot game with no passiviness in his game. He brought the physical play and forechecking element from WJC. He also seemed to want the puck on his stick all night. Able to skate up on rushes with the puck from our D zone. Played the half wall, point on the PP instead of planting himself in front of the net like he was told to do at the WJC. Was in his element last night, saw a more physical OHL version of QB. If he develops that part of his game he will be a terror in 3 years. Time to build chemistry, love to see Madden and QB on the same line.

Anyone know how to get AHL.TV via PS4? I'm searching for it, but it's not showing up. Yet, I'm able to download the app on my Sony TV....strange.

I don’t think Kayilev and Byfield are going back to the OHL especially if it doesn’t start this year.

FYI is the most stocked our minor league club is since 2004-5 when Manchester had Brown, Cammy, TK, Lehoux, Grebeshkov, Gleason, Parros, Kanko, and Garon....granted some of those players didn’t pan out - most besides Kanko had NHL careers.

It would be great for our kids, but would be terrible for the upcoming draft.

Can you open a browser on PS4? I'm clueless. That would be the only way--they've acknowledged it doesn't work on gaming consoles. Otherwise my xbox is my media machine in similar manner

Great season, NHL lock out and we only had the AHL.

I remember a terrific Lehoux who unfortunately got injured.

That 2004-05 Manchester team can't hold a candle to the 2021 Ontario Reign team..10-12 NHLers here baby!
