It's not like they're getting outplayed. It seems like a lot of the goals against just kind of happen... Bad goal tending and poor defense as usual.

Not even sure what to do. They lost to the Mini Sharks who haven't played in years it seems. Everything's been said about this team, just keep moving forward I guess. Pretty sad.

Wins and losses don't really matter much in the AHL. The Kings basically got nothing of significance at the NHL level out of anyone from the Monarchs Calder Cup team in 2015, but it also probably isn't a good thing for some of your best prospects to be on a team that is a laughing stock.

Villalta is not the guy. I would stick with Berube and Grosenick. Beyond that, they need to establish more structured play and start growing as a team. So much potential talent on the offensive end but very raw.

I think it's a case of too much too soon. New coach, new structure, too many 1st year prospects. There is no quick fix to this but it will make their retrospective meetings interesting.

I think it’s perennial Reign-watcher @regulate who says that it takes about half of the season for young players to really start to figure out the AHL. Unfortunately for us and the Reign, that usual half-season mark is the full season this year.

How has Fagemo been transitioning to the A? probably benefit from better line mates or what?

I watched the 1st period and final 5 minutes on AHLTV. San Jose production is really bad. Every stoppage of play they immediately go to a stupid barracuda interstitial screen and do not show any on ice activity until the faceoff puck drop. Really efffing annoying. I was fast forwarding through the feed and that interstitial is probably more than 50 percent of the entire broadcast.

AHL TV has been pretty disappointing, tbh.

It's about the same as last year. Worth the money to me, but frustrating at times.

Even the pivoting Reign logo during home intermissions annoys me. I'd rather see the zamboni cruising around the ice. It would make it more of an in-arena type watch. At least our production is trying to put some content on. I don't know what San Jose is thinking. A lot of important game action happens after the whistle.

I feel like Clague has to be seriously bummed he's back in the AHL. He was playing solid hockey, and I bet he felt like he'd finally broken through. I know you can't have that mindset if you're going to make it, but I feel like it's almost unavoidable at times.

It's a numbers game but Clague's probably got the raw-est deal of anyone at this point. Frankly wouldn't blame him if he asked for a move.

Because Clague can play both sides of the ice and can provide secondary offense he would be a perfect number 6 or number 7 this year.

my question is, is he good enough to take over Walkers spot as third pairing right side Dman?

or

would he match up well playing on his left side with Strand taking over Walker’s third pairing spot.

either way you would think a younger Right shot Dman would pull a premium before race wars or I mean the trade deadline.

I love Walker but we seem to have a lot of the same type of defenseman either in the team or in the system and we have expansion draft to worry about. Just think moving Walker and protecting a Clague or Strand while getting back some value could work.

it all hinges in if Clague is ready though.

If he is bummed that's on Blake. I'm sure they tell all these young guys -- "expect to be up an down like a yoyo".
