Totally forgot about how he screwed us. JK guys. I fudged this one.

That'd be the least of my concerns. It's a business and he was cold and calculating in his decision. It's done and I'm over it. I'm more concerned about the $6.667m hit till 2020 if he continues to play like he's played this season and combine that with the expected Pejorative Sluration in skills due to age, it just isn't worth it.

Interesting.
In the incredibly unlikely event that the Stars would trade for him, and somewhat less likely event that they'd sign him if he were Gomez'd, I'd really only like to see Draft picks/Change of scenery players in the deal.
He had his chance to resign, and didn't.
I'd hate to see (a) quality player(s) uprooted as the cost for his change of heart (Assuming Trade; NTC).
I bet, though, that if he came back, he would be totally humbled and **** and wreck shop.

With Gainey on board, I am always anxious about a major ****-up happening via trade.

The Stars added an extra forward to each power-play group during a 40-minute session. Loui Eriksson and Derek Roy each worked at a point, a spot usually held by a defenseman.

Loui on the point may be interesting, but I'm not sure if he has the shot to get it through traffic when needed.

wohoo! Can we actually finish top 10 in both PK and PP this year?? It'll be a huge turnaround from last year that's for sure

they need to push it towards the net and then crash the heck out of it

tooooooo much trying to be cute

I hope they're practicing the PP this week.

How many more shorthanded breakaways against until the 4 forwards set bites the dust? Or do they figure out how to make it work?

Zero, they had better be changing it right now. If it was just shorthanded breakaways against I might have more patience, but when they can't win the faceoff, enter the zone with possession, or get a shot on net there isn't much of a reason to stick with what they are doing.

I didn't understand why they had Ciasson of Nazzarath taking a draw to start the PP.

I think you would understand if you did some research into career fo% of various Stars players on the 1st unit. Also if you thought about the kind of guys who generally take the 1st shorthanded draw and their career fo% you might come to some interesting conclusions.

Apparently both 1st and 2nd units continue to be 4 forward configurations according to Heika's notes from this week's practices. So that will continue for a while.

Giving up on it already might be premature, but my patience for futility is running out.

Minnesota was running a 4 forward look pretty well last night. We'll probably see it tomorrow night. Pominville helps make that work though, not sure we have a forward quite like that.

I think moving Whitney to the top unit was a good idea, and I hope minutes on the pp will spark his production. He had his best game by a long shot against Colorado.

A couple of years ago when the Stars set the franchise record for powerplay futility at 13.5 percent I thought it can't get any worse than that. 13.5 is looking pretty good right about now.
