I watched the second half of the 3rd period on DVR this morning and it was the multiview telecast.

Anyone check it out?

One benefit is no ads on the boards.
Wow I didn't notice that. I'm going to give it another try next game because those board ads are annoying and distracting as f***!

FWIW, my only issue with Judd so far is that he's still calling games as if he's doing radio play-by-play.

Slightly too fast for TV, and too much time spent describing where the puck and/or players are on the ice. It's not necessary - we're watching. We can see where the puck/player is.

HF retirement home

Dale Arnold is taking a break from retirement to come back and help out his old team.

Arnold, a play-by-play voice on NESN’s Bruins broadcasts from 1995-2007 before moving into a studio role until his retirement in April 2023, is returning to handle studio duties on an interim basis.

His first day back will be for Sunday’s Centennial Game between the Bruins and Canadiens.

Arnold, the only person to have called play-by-play for five Boston professional teams (the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, and Revolution), will work the pregame and postgame studio programs for the foreseeable future, per NESN.

He is being brought back to ease the workload on the current on-air staff.

Adam Pellerin has been handling hosting duties since Sophia Jurksztowicz took a leave of absence just before the start of the season. Pellerin and Andrew Raycroft will continue to split in-game reporter duties.

When Jurksztowicz announced her leave of absence Oct. 1, she wrote on Instagram, “due to personal reasons, I’m going to have to delay my season start with NESN and the team. I don’t want anyone to worry, I WILL be okay, but right now I just need to take time away from work. I’ve received nothing but support from NESN with my circumstances and I seriously could not be more grateful to be working at NESN or more thankful for all the love from my teammates.”

NESN did not have an update on her status.

===================================================================================

Personally, I have zero inside info, but Im worried about Sophia. Hope she’s going to be ok.

Anybody else having massive picture quality issues since early November?

Even the scorebug has been pixelated.

I've tried multiple devices in multiple locations, still having the same issue so I assume it's not just me. NESN's support has been completely useless.

Weirdly the multicast/alternative broadcasts looked perfect.

And and the commercials look good, shocking...

I thought the problem was my internet connection here in Australia. How can NESN allow this poor quality telecast to continue?
They just collect the money and don't care.

I've been going back and forth with support since it started and they keep just asking the same questions over and over trying to blame my internet/connection.

It's not the feed, I have DirecTV streaming and the picture is flawless, in 4K or HD. I should've dumped Comcast's crushed, noisy picture years ago, and NESN 360 isn't much better.

I'm aware it's not the direct feed. If it was people would be losing their minds.

There was a significant drop in quality of the NESN 360 app feed for most programs in early November, it used to be fine to good depending on 4k vs HD and which platform. Now it is headache inducing.

Hey at least I haven't seen the randomly occurring 5-10 second replay loop that resolves itself by skipping how ever much of the play it looped over any more. Progress. For by far the most expensive subscription service I have. And that is only useful for like 10ish hours of programming a week.

I managed to snag some credentials for ESPN+ last night, and although I haven't watched on the NESN app, I've seen enough games on NESN to compare with ESPN+

That stream last night was f***ing CRISP. I buffered a few times and missed anywhere from 2-10 seconds, but the AV quality was through the roof

Hulu was great. Better than NESN.
