I like him so far, glad they got a guy to just announce and not be the game. He lets Brick the expert handle the nuances. The intermission guys are great, they spell it out properly and professionally.

Judd is doing fine. I just miss Jack, especially in the third with the missed penalty on Marchand followed by the weak penalty on Pasta, he'd have been having a hilarious tantrum.

Judd is sticking to the action and letting Brick, who is an insightful color commentator, breath.

No dumb repetitive, self serving, corny comments. I get some people liked it. I found it extremely unprofessional.

I for one see the broadcast as a big improvement.(no indictment of Jack as a human, I'm sure he's a fine chap and loves his Bruins)
You are so right play by play guy , should call the game, and leave all the other crap, to in studio guys, clowns like PK Suban, and that other joke, Bizonetti and a few others, at least you can turn them off, play by play you can't because you want to watch the game.

Yep, Judd is doing just like he did on the radio which was always easy to listen to. Just talk about the game and tell us what’s happening

Only two games in, and I can't stand him already.

If you are a professional announcer, one of your primary skills must be clear diction. Judd's diction is appalling.

If he says "Lin-holm" one more time I will scream and we have two of them. It's LinDholm, idiot. Here are some of his other obvious ones, "killin,'" "inner the zone," and "back in" versus "back end." He also has trouble with "penalty," "send," and "sent."

Maybe he can spend next summer taking diction lessons.

The good thing with Center Ice is that you have a choice of home or visitor broadcasts. I can always flip to NESN between periods and after the game.

No offense to Razor, but I don't like the new feature of having his during-game commentary. It's not him I don't like, it's the feature.

I think Jack was often annoying but tolerable in his “prime”. Even funny on occasion. It’s when he started to slow down where it just became straight stupid like 100% of the time.

As a lifelong out of market B's fan that only cares about hockey and absolutely loved Jack's passion and commitment (but completely understood how he could get on peoples nerves but kinda found it funny more often than not anyhow...) I had no idea who Judd was until he got the gig, I think he is doing fine. I always enjoy Brick's insight into the game and I feel that he is getting a little more space to chime in now, and that is no dig on Jack.

Was already very familiar with Judd from the radio, so this has been an easy transition for me. Think he's doing fine on TV, probably even slightly better already than his radio call. Not an amazing, top tier commentator, but solid. Calls the play professionally without overwhelming it, little bit of warmth and humor, gives Brick space to do his thing. That's quite enough for me. No complaints.

Goal call still sucks, but at least he gave us one game before breaking out the "He scooooooooooooores". Otherwise, a refreshing change from the buffoonery of the past.

Buffoonery is exactly what the problem was. I'll take Sirott's (U of Michigan grad, can't be that ignorant) diction quirks over Jack's childish ranting and trite sayings any day and every day.
This broadcast is fresh air compared to the what we had over the last 2 or 3 years.
I sincerely have sympathy for his medical issues, but when I can't do my job as I should, I'll get replaced as well.

People have been pining for basic for years. Well, we're here.

Judd's nice. Maybe he'll develop a personality over the coming years.
Reminds me a bit of Don Orsillo, who broke in announcing Sox games by the book, and developed a personality which was easy with Remy alongside him. I think Brick will do the same.

And when I was watching the other night and had my laptop on, for a solid minute I thought I had the radio on and then realized I was in front of the tv. Gonna take me a minute to get used to.

I think he will develop more personality as the season goes on. I’m just happy we didn’t get stuck with the guy who filled in for Jack last year.

Orsillo was awesome. I wish NESN would bring him back and get Eck out of retirement. Those two would bring some excitement to a boring, faceless product.

Boring and Faceless. I think you just came up with the title to John Henry's autobiography.

I think Judd's fine. But I have to admit, when Charlie Coyle got called for that phantom high sticking penalty in the home opener when he was like a mile away from the guy, I couldn't help but wonder what Jackie Boy's reaction would have been.

He’s on Reddit. I don’t know how he reacted to that, but this is his response to the Brazzeau goalie interference vs. the Habs.

With respect to everyone else’s preferences, I personally can finally listen to the Bruins feed again instead of opting for the opponent’s or mute. I’m ok with the new guy. Just call the game so that if I happen to look away or if something is developing behind the play, I know what’s going on.

But then, I’d probably be a lot happier without color commentary, intermission shows, and player interviews, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I’m also the guy that hated all the extracurricular activities at live games, and preferred the old analog scoreboard and an organ player. I guess that mindset doesn’t sell anymore.
