Someone needs to cut that puck in half
Came here to say this too!

Brodeur and Hasek used to always keep a game puck whenever they recorded a shutout. They weren't aware that they each had this same tradition til the first season after the lockout. Both goalies recorded a shutout going into a shootout (that I think Marty won). When they both went for the puck at the same time after the game they decided the most equitable move was to cut it in half. And that's why Brodeur and Hasek both have a half a puck in their personal trophy cases

For some reason I thought Crosby got his 1,600th point on Malkin’s 500th goal earlier this season, but it was just the same game

“Classy”. Does any term get chucked around more to describe pro athletes being real human beings?

Anyways, that is a really cool factoid. Not sure I remember hearing of such a significant milestone being accomplished simultaneously by two players. Anyone know of any comparables?

In 2004 Tom Fitzgerald and Gary Roberts both played their 1,000th career game on the same night. It was the first time in NHL history that two teammates reached the milestone in the same game.

Mr. Fitzgerald scored a goal during the banner night as the Leafs cruised to a 4-1 victory
