But literally every single player who's played a game for the Avs this year except for Ritchie, has a positive corsi%. Besides Ritchie who's at 42%, Ludvig is the next lowest at 51.33%.


Just another indicator that the Avs are honestly playing good hockey this year. They just aren't getting any saves, let alone important timely saves.

More interesting stats... Out of all the bottom 10 teams in the league for goals against, Colorado is the only team with a record above .500.



I dont know much more clear it can be made that this team would be on wheels with even just average goaltending. They need to fix whatever is happening in net and they need to do it before the Holiday trade freeze IMO.

It’s an age old saying but it’s true; your goaltender has to be your best PKer. You’re going to allow some good scoring chances on the PK, it’s inevitable. You need a goalie to make a save.

I’m usually an eye test guy, but you don’t even need to do that for this team. We are horrendous and near the bottom in every single analytic that has some dependency on goaltending.

There’s no way we burn yet another year of prime MacK/Makar window by not addressing the goaltending. That would be criminal behaviour.

And I find them to be VASTLY superior to the much more well-funded ESPN, which I think is a total shitshow (apart from Bob Wischusen). I don't think they're perfect by any means but I really don't mind their presentation except for the fact that Rycroft has completely lost the edge that got him the full-time gig at Altitude in the first place.

Off-topic I know, but is EJ actually all that much worse than Kylington or CDH at this point? Though he and Malinski are both righties, EJ as a stay-at-home Dman with Malinski at PMD can't be any worse than Ludvig, CDH, Kylington or JMFJ and there are some intangibles in the locker room and in mentoring Malinski. Hell, if Landy can't make it back this year, give EJ the 'C' for the end of the season.

I was pretty vocal in favor of letting EJ go when we did. But CMac has done nothing to materially replace Byram and if the Avs are going to head into the playoffs with a subpar 6D, why not make it EJ?

Absolutely and utterly true. Messier is actually the best analyst in hockey, he's just not a good public speaker. Trust me, I very much dislike Messier as a player, most overrated player in hockey history.
