Back on topic, it will be fascinating with such random rosters but I’m not sure it’s a “must-watch” live anymore given the time zone.

It certainly won’t really be used as a measuring stick for hockey power, as limited as the Olympics was even with NHLers in that capacity.

More of a curiosity or a fun tournament like the Spengler Cup.

I will watch the women's tournament. There will be NHL games to watch for a change. Past that I always enjoy the racing of all kinds, speed skating, alpine skiing, bobsled, cross country and so on. I will have plenty to watch

I fully understand the NHLs decision not to go to the olympics but it made the whole Olympics as a non-event for me as I consider hockey to be the only sport worth watching in the winter Olympics.

Even though I'm Finnish I have absolutely zero interest in cross country skiing or ski jumping.

The ideal Olympic format should be this:

- Only the big 5 teams allowed to participate (CAN, USA, FIN, RUS, SWE)
- Best-on best (rosters filled with top NHLers)
- Stage 1: Round-robin (they play each other once, 10 games in total)
- Stage 2: The two top teams play each other in the final best-of-3 series

Your country could get 2 golds in hockey... No one talks enough about the robbery at the world's when the Finn ladies were, imo, cheated out of a gold. Your boys are one of the 2 favs. I'd kill for this as a czech!
