Ramirez doing to Spanish defenders what she does to WSL defenders, if only she'd gotten the finish right on that one

And suddenly the Ramirez missed chance becomes a major regret after some very shoddy keeping, 2-1

USA probably had their hardest possible opponent on paper vs Japan but unfortunately due to the way that roster has been managed they're gassed. They should beat anyone remaining, especially CAN or GER but I doubt they do due to fatigue

Spain go through on penalties. Tapia comes excruciatingly close to saving the winning penalty from Bonmati, but all four Spanish PKs were brilliant and the Colombian PKs were just simply not.

Quality got Spain through this, but I am not certain they will be able to pull it out of the hat to the same degree against France/Brazil.

Brutally close to 3-0 off that Ramirez chance.

How France is losing this game is beyond me. Brazil defended well but still, missing a pen and hitting the bar...

Then and there
Ref subbed off in the Spain - Marocco match after only 15 minutes. A Spanish player slided on him from behind and brought him down, after the sliding player had been tackled by opponent.

Barrios kicks Richardson hard in the leg inside the box, looks like a PK. Given.

And another one scored confidently by Rahimi, he has 6 goals now.

Intense game so far, but just like at the WC, Morocco just seems to want it more. I just hope their antics galvanize a bit this Spanish team, cause I'd much rather see them in a final against France.

Very impressed with Amir Richardson, arguably the best player on the pitch so far. And I remember him being underwhelming when I saw him in Ligue 1, he looked like a stork on wheels, but as he's growing into his huge frame he looks much more comfortable out there.

Then and there
1-1, Fermin Lopez from inside the box, after he gets the ball, which bounced nicely to Spanish players, who were surrounded by superior number of Marocco players.
