Scoreless draw at halftime between France and Egypt.
Egypt the better team, France with the best 2 chances.
Henry disapppints again with his starting XI. Without Koné and Millot he had to make choices. Akliouche in is fine but Diouf? Really? With Cherki and Doue on the bench...

Then and there
Egypt were pinned down inside their box for long periods, France could have used some of Cherki's creativity there or Doue's movement. Too much passing around the perimeter. Olise at least tried to make something happen.

Bade's header was good otherwise, but unfortunately hit the post. Adel was quite lively for Egypt.

This is disgustingly blatant time wasting by Egypt lol

Whole other level though.
I like Olise, but he needs to buy himself a right foot to take the next step.
in a france team that struggled hard for creativity (with the exception of the 10 minutes that deschamps allowed ousmane to play at the #10), Olise would've comfortably been at that level.

not sure how much you watch Crystal Palace, but he's 100% at that level even if he is one-footed.

I don't watch much Crystal because my mental health is important. :)
IMO he's too easy to defend with his one footedness.
It's a mental and coachable thing because he's actually not bad with his right.

He could be another Saka with a decent use of his right foot for crosses.

Then and there
just as he would've been mvp of euro 2024 if deschamps wasn't a dinosaur :(

Yeah, they had only Griezmann for that creative role, and nobody to replace him, when he clearly wasn't good enough any more.

Although Henry isn't that brave of a manager either, looks to be from the same school of thought than Deschamps. Team only starts to attack and expand their game after falling behind.

sad for you, after they replaced Hodgson with Glasner they became very fun to watch and Olise was easily a top 10 player in the league down the stretch.
