Hank has been a beast. I'm excited for the game tomorrow, hopefully his momentum is carried back to the states. :yo::yo:

Brooks Orpik sums up these Olympics with that whiff.

Big changes need to be made in USA hockey. Develop quality centers and find someone who isn't named Dan Bylsma.

Eh they weren't bad down the middle but really I just think bylsma mishandeled the roster and no clue how to handle the other teams in the tournament who played a pressure the puck carrier style. None of the lines really came together and looked like they had chemistry for any length of time, their gameplan looked passive, other teams got better as the Olympics went along and team USA got worse.

"Sure went down the toilet with that ugly *****".

Marv to Bud in Wall Street when their stock tanked.

:)

One more game and the real stuff begins again.

Wheels fell off the bus. **** happens. The score wouldn't have been as bad without the idiotic frustration driven penalties--still it looked like a shutout waiting to happen.

Still think they should let the college and Chl guys play this. Rather not risk the injuries. The Stanley Cup is the grail not the Olympics as far as I'm concerned.

That's your opinion though. For the majority of European players, and specifically Russians, the Gold is actually the holy grail.

For most North Americans, you're right. But it's not fair to lump everyone in with your opinion.

The NHL players want to play these games.

Who all? The players embarrassed themselves, not me personally.

Just felt like a waste of time to the players. I remain very surprised.

players, why would I address this to people on the board?

Personally, the performance of the last two games was rough. You can lose and it being disappointing but I don't think the effort and patience was there. That's where it becomes embarrassing, couldn't see the heart just frustration.

Teemu = Amazing..

Wish I had his drive and dedication..

Shamefull display by the us..

Outcoached, outplayed and outmuscled...twice in a row...

This ones on the coach. I hated his response prior to the game. "There's enough leaders in that room." LOL, it's your job to get them up for the game.

He basically let the players handle it themselves.

Don't care about Bronze or 4th, it's a loser medal. We didn't win gold, it was a fail.

Go Hank.

You mean to say that if you worked your whole life to get to the olympics, and won silver or bronze, you'd throw it in the trash because it is a "loser medal"?

North Americans don't seem to fully grasp what a medal system is about.

And like always, the opinion of one poster is clearly representative of the entire continent's fan bases. :sarcasm:

I understand what your saying...but who cares if you don't get first....your either first or your last;)

American sports tend to be odd that way though. In Association football, there are multiple trophies to be won across all competitions, teams set different goals and agendas.

In NHL, NFL, MLB, everyone only cares about the one trophy.

Depends on context. Some Olympians are thrilled to get to the podium, but some huge favorites will be disappointed with themselves if they don't win gold. Mckayla Maroney comes to mind. (Was not impressed with silver)

Don't be so defensive. Who exactly did I lump in with my opinion? I just stated my opinion is all. I'm quite aware that at least on this board that's a minority opinion. Is it a sin now to not go along with the general consensus? Lighten up.
