If you look into the French source he mentions that Gatineau was aware of the injury and potential time missed so there were conditions built into the trade. The author didn't have the specifics though. After all that hail he was traded for too.
14. Olivier Nadeau, RW
19 years old | 6-foot-2 | 204 pounds | Shoots right
Drafted: No. 97 in 2021
Tier: Projected to play NHL games
Skating: Below NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: Above NHL average
Shot: Below NHL average
Analysis: Nadeau was an important all-situations forward for the QMJHL champions. Nadeau is an intelligent, skilled forward who can create offense around the hard areas of the offensive zone. He works hard to win pucks at both ends. His skating has always been an issue, and given that he maxed out physically early on it probably won’t improve a ton as he ages, but even without much speed I see enough to his game to be a regular bottom-six winger.
I hope this one works out. I like Nadeau things and all the Nadeauness that goes with it.A couple nights ago, 9-of-11 at the draw, a goal and an assist. Note how he's just a load for teams to handle in and around the crease:

From last night - fast forward to about 25 seconds to see Nadeau doing Nadeau things - cleaning up a rebound for a 2nd and eventual 3rd chance for a goal.

NiceAbout to post about his first goal and he scores his second of the night.
Nice
Don't know much about him or the league he's in. There's Google I guess
Interesting, tyLarge right hand shooting forward who plays along the wall and around the net front, fairly creative with his playmaking in traffic and most of his goals are from less than a stick length from the net. As is often an issue with bigger guys, has heavier feet which he's worked on since his draft year. He didn't start playing this season until recently because he played through a shoulder injury last season on Shawinigan's run to the Memorial Cup last year. He had his shoulder surgically repaired so he was out for dev camp and the prospects' tournament. Gatineau knew this and still paid a handsome return to get him for this year in trade (two firsts, a 2nd and '05 Thomas Hebert).
Very strong on faceoffs, a PP regular as the low man providing screens and net front, but also low hub playmaking. Someone to keep an eye out for in a couple of years. Still needs to get faster and while he's a large human he does not actively apply that size on opponents in my viewings over last year and this.
Great description.. Him and kulich and maybe Bloom Are what these team needs... To complete this and one more superstar third pair vet.
