Isles fan here. If they can get him in position on the PP for example to let go of that bomb of his he'll be fine. For Wally it's all about getting that shot off. His skating has been his biggest downside but he's just one of a number of our younger players who had no chance to develop their offensive instinct under Barry Trotz. BT is absolutely horrible for an offensive minded player like Wally to develop. I hope he finds his game with the Bruins. What a waste of a good player on the Island.

not to absolve wally of his shortcomings but the 3 guys you mention have a combined point total of 8. that's 8 points in 32 games for 3 "nhl"players over 32 games. not an 8 point average for that group which would be bad enough but 5 for maclean, 2 for cizikas and 1 for martin for an abhorrant low of 8 all together. granted they are 4th line guys but that tells me that maybe a new beginning will give ollie's career a much needed jumpstart

That's kind of where I was going. It's not like he was playing with similar skilled players. It was actually the opposite, he was playing with 4th line grinders

Ive always been a Wally fan but in fairness, he was kinda lumbersome to begin with. I'm sure the injuries haven't helped but he was slow by NHL standards anyway

He's got a cannon for a shot, a nose for getting the puck on net and can throw some really hard checks. If Boston plays to his strengths and tries to minimize his weaknesses, this may work out

I like the fact that it seems Marchand is already befriending him and taking him under his wing a little bit
Woop Brandon Bochenski. BTW he’s a mayor. lol.

W/r/t Mac- I'll tell you honestly I don't think he's been the same player since that surgery. These days he seldom trucks guys when the opportunity is there & the less said about his shooting the better. To me he's not as aggressive as he used to be. Whether that is a physical or mental problem or both I don't know but I miss the Mac Truck.
I think CMac is trying too hard some nights and he's just putrid. He was playing well with Hampus earlier this season and he's looked great with Zaddy. Between the shoulder (that I think is more mental) and his suspensions, we are seeing a timid CMac with brief glimpses of what he looked like when he broke into the league.

Woop Brandon Bochenski. BTW he’s a mayor. lol.
Bochenski's problem was that he bulked up too much in the offseason and came into camp slower than molasses and it destroyed his game. Marchand had a bit of the same issue when he came into camp early in his career.

we might see a bit of a resurgence with him, but local guys rarely work out long term in Boston. Coyle is the only exception I can think of.

Mike O'Connell had good years on D with Boston. Appeared in 1984 NHL All Star game.

Walpole's Mike Milbury, was a story to say the least and Billerica's Bobby Miller appeared with Mike in Invasion Of The Shoe Snatchers, while being part of The NHL Record 20 Goal Scorers in 1977-78. Miller was only 21 when he scored 20 that season.

Bit of trivia, 3 Walpole and 3 Billerica natives have played for The Boston Bruins and 2 have been NHL GM'S.
