Hopefully works out better than that time they picked up Brian Lawton on waivers...
Injury hurt his skating and has slowed him down a ton. I imagine that also affects how much time and space he has to get his shot off. I like the claim but we'll see how he does. From 2020-2022 there was clearly something there. I can't speak to why he fell off, but clearly there is nhl talent. Never know what a change of scenery can do.
He had a roster spot waiting for him on opening night. Did not do enough to wrap it up and got send down over Koepke. That should not have happened.Yeah. Better take him out back behind the shed and put him down right?
Apparently he didn’t have a spot.He had a roster spot waiting for him on opening night. Did not do enough to wrap it up and got send down over Koepke. That should not have happened.
Has he done enough in Providence so far this year to put one of the Bruins upstairs for a week?
How I see it is the DeBrusk spot was there for his taking. He was really the only sensible pick there and on opening night not only was he NOT on the team in that spot they moved Geekie up as a patch. They then chose to SIGN Tyler Johnson instead of giving Lysell another look in October. I don't think I need to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that Bruins Management does NOT like what they see in him right now. They had to scramble and PAID to NOT play him on the big club. That alone goes beyond any stat or fan eye test.Apparently he didn’t have a spot.
He’s playing on a line with Tufte and Brown. Easy to create offense next to those guys so no excuse right?
No one can slow a game down like David Krejci. Criminally underrated. No, not similar players at all. Krejci is an all-time cerebral player.

He didn't do enough? What did he need to do? He looked really good in camp. He was creating chances and showing his speed. Sweeney loves to see how prospects react to getting sent down. It's a weird fetish of his. They pulled the same crap w/ Studnicka and killed his confidence.
Lysell looked a hell of a lot better than Johnson did, but Sweeney loves his vets. Why do you think so many people were shocked when Poitras made the team last season? It's because guys who don't require waivers are 99.9% of the time getting sent down over a vet, even if they outplay the vet.

For better or worse it looks like this Bruins management looks at the full ice game of a player before awarding them a roster spot over another NHL player..
Im not going to break down what Lysell is lacking because Im not qualified to do so. Read Doms newsletter(COUGH Dom - Hockey COUGH) if your looking for a opinion from someone with a pro eye. As for me I look at what was NOT done to deduce whats going on, here is what I said in a post just above yours:
As for your view on Studnicka, I don't agree. I was all in on Captain Jack, too. But he just did not do enough to warrant a full-time job. Not with Boston, and then not with Vancouver, then not with San Jose, and now not with the Kings.

He had 38 games as a Bruin and 69 with 3 other teams since and has done nothing to support your view of him being dumped by Sweeney who "ruined his confidence" He did not earn an NHL spot and has not since.
Equally, neither has Lysell according to his bosses. If roster decisions were up to the fanbase he would have been the 2C all year. Which means either the entire Bruins management is wrong or the fan base supporting Lysell is.
Do we really need to go into who deserves more to be hired to make those decisions?
Funny you use two guys (Brown with more points than Lysell and Tufte with more goals in four fewer games) as examples of players holding him back.Apparently he didn’t have a spot.

Browns the team captain too, no?Funny you use two guys (Brown with more points than Lysell and Tufte with more goals in four fewer games) as examples of players holding him back.
Seems to me that based on results, that's precisely who he should be playing with.

Lysell was never pouty though? Where are you getting pouty?I see a lot of Ryan Spooner in Lysell. Touted prospect, pouty when sent down, thought they had a spot guaranteed and came into camp and looked bad.
I was right about Ryan Spooner.
I’m not sure where anyone gets the pouty thing from other than it fits the narrative.Lol

He was called out by the coach last year for a shit attitude and his play to start the season in Providence was abysmal and reeked of a poor attitude after getting cut and seeing guys called up over him.Lol

I suppose it is kinda funny that you figure Lysell playing with two players who are out-producing him are simultaneously holding him back.
It was not for a shit attitude. And you should also link to what Mougenel said the next time he was asked about him.He was called out by the coach last year for a shit attitude and his play to start the season in Providence was abysmal and reeked of a poor attitude after getting cut and seeing guys called up over him.
Bruins prospect Fabian Lysell receives sharp criticism from AHL coach
Providence Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel had some pretty candid criticism of top prospect Fabian Lysell after Sunday’s loss.www.nbcsportsboston.com

Dom has also had some write ups on him.
The problem is Lysell and him alone. He’s had opportunities and pissed them away.
no one wants him to fail most of us live in reality where we don’t give him a free pass and blame everyone else for why he’s not in Boston. Take off your rose colored glasses when it comes to him.It was not for a shit attitude. And you should also link to what Mougenel said the next time he was asked about him.
The narrative on this kid is unbelievable around here. What did he “piss away”? It’s like everyone wants him to fail.
Amazing. What opportunites has he squandered? Training camp this year? That’s it? He was 20 last year he didn’t squander anything. He wasn’t given any opportunities to squander. Seriously can’t even process this line of thinking. The reality is that he’s squandered every opportunity he’s been given.
It isn’t just about this year with him. You can’t understand because you have an unhealthy obsession with the player and can’t handle the valid criticism that has plagued him for multiple seasons now.Amazing. You know how to google and search this forum. When you stop being lazy, you will find the answers to your questions.Right.
What opportunities did he squander last year or before?
