Prospect Info: Oliver Kapanen, RHC, KalPa U20 (U20 SM-sarja), 64th Overall

They should trust him. He’s been playing against men for a while and he was great in the preseason. His first 12 games could have gone better, but like you said, he’s a different player today than he was in October.
And to be fair to him, the whole team was also kinda playing like shit in October.

Good news.

With his skating ability, let him be a nuisance for the other team by trying to create turnovers on the forecheck and basically just being a pain in the ass. Nothing overwhelming but a solid defined role that keeps it simple for him.

Very curious to see if he will be a changed player after having a successful year as a 1C in the SHL.

When he made the team out of camp, it was clear that it was an eye opening experience. He did well at camp and earned the right to make the team. But regular season is not like preseason, and he was not as ready. But he went to the SHL and has gained a lot of confidence and he also has some NHL games under his belt. So maybe he'll come in as a different player.
I'm skeptical due to main issue being his lack of strength. Doubt he put on muscle during season. Probably lost some if I'm being honest based on how most NHLers struggle to get workouts in during RS

This isn't April 1th 2025... It's not a fake news...

This is April 2th 2025! So it's a official news!

Of course but at the same time, Heineman has 0 goals 1 assist in his last 22 games. He just hasn’t been the same since his injury and while he works hard, should not be playing anywhere but the 4th line
We also don’t know the extent of the injury to his hand / wrist - handling the puck / shooting involve lost of “feel”, wrist injuries tend to linger and take a while to fully heal

He was pretty reliable earlier in the year, and having just come off some playoff intensity hockey in the SHL I hope that he can slot in right away to take that spot from Pezz and Roy.

Awesome news!

Pezz is so dogshit that we had to change our mind on sending Kapanen to Laval

That's definitely part of it, but I also think the initial plan to send him to Laval would have been made before the Habs were in their current situation. In a playoff spot on April 2nd.

It's a great add for the team with Kapanen being able to play multiple roles and easily a better option than Pezzetta or Roy.
