I have both Kapanen and Beck playing lots of NHL games next year. Ideally as our 4th center and 13th forward/AHL 1st line center who gets the call up (instead of having Condotta/Pezzetta has the call up/13th forward option)

Is Kapanen coming over in the A if he doesn’t make the team? I feel like he might just need 20 games or so in the A to adjust his game speed on smaller rink…at some point those Euro guys gotta commit to it if they want a better chance.

he's only under contract with us next year, so he plays where the Habs want him to. AHL, NHL or they could loan him again if they felt that was the better path.

Oh yeah we got this guy too who’s probably not even a top 5 prospect for us lol.

Honestly it was worth the 20 years of practically nothing to now where our cupboards are beyond stacked.

I am shocked he didn't get a concussion, if you see how hard the back of his head bounced off the ice, it made me think of perhaps the best hockey movie ever made, Youngblood. Watching it live I thought this is going to be really bad. Good that is wasn't though, CTE is no joke.

Oh I forgot about him hitting his head.
Great to hear!

His PPG is quite easily the best in the SHL for a 21-year-old in the last ten+ years. It's important to note that there aren't a lot of comparible NHLers on the list though, as the vast majority head to the AHL for their 20/21 year old season.

24gp 10g 12a and I want a Jokinen Thinking Cap

I would say Matthias Janmark

A journeyman bottom 6 player
Based on what? You watching the SHL on a daily basis?

Olivier Kapanen 21 years old
24GP 10G 22P -6

Janmark 21 years old
55GP 13G 36P +9

It's a very small sample size and stats watching but unless you watch the SHL daily since 2014 then not sure how you come to this conclusion.

Also Jenmark was a pretty decent bottom 6 guy. He's getting old but in his prime he did a pretty good job. The guy went to 2 cup finals and one semis and was a good contributor every time.

It’s nothing scientific..

But 3-4th line that can bring speed and little bit of offence but a player that will make many teams

The best ppg season i could find for a u22 player in the SHL since 2000 was

Elias Petterson with 1.273 ppg
Marc Zuccarello 1.143 ppg
Jacob Silverberg 1.102 ppg
Linus Omark 1.038 ppg
Henrik Zetterberg 0.979 ppg
Jonathan Berggren 0.918 ppg
Olivier Kapanen 0.916 ppg

It doesn't guarantee anything as we see with Omark and the samle size is too small the season is not over yet he's just one bad sequence away from not being close to a ppg but he's a legit prospect.
