Much better period. Still hate that it's a one goal game, but Kochetkov seems to have settled in after a shaky start. Hopefully the team helps him out and we can finish this.
I think I remember last season when he was getting his first starts a reporter for the Wolves mentioned that Kochetkov had a habit of giving up an early goal and then turning it around

Being paired with Burns?

I mean its troubling that Karlsson now looks like his old self again now that Burns isn't there anymore.

I said the same exact thing a few weeks ago. It IS troubling that Karlsson looks so good after Burns was traded and now *all of a sudden* Slavin can't seem to play up to his old standard?

The thing about a tic-tac-toe is that is if you make a 4th tic pass then the goalie is already in position to make the save

I'll take a wild guess that tonight's game hasn't hurt Kochetkov's league leading (among starters) Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60. He leads Sorokin, Vejmelka and Hart.

I honestly think Koochie's glove would have had that.

His positioning is unorthodox, yet he's consistently getting there to make the save. Its fun to watch.
It would be impossible to execute without his insane athleticism. I don't think it is out of line to say that it may be the most aggressive goalie in the NHL positionally. It has worked for him so far. Especially in high-danger situations.

Anyone else notice we keep getting digital ads for local Pittsburgh companies on the broadcast?
