Post-Game Talk: Oilers win the battle but lose the war against their arch nemesis…

Playoff Intensity
A look ahead to when time and space reduces and a hard grinding game rules. Skinner massive first period defined this game. Different game if Kings score on that breakdown and cross ice dish that Skinner manages to keep out. Oiler super elites the difference in this game. Aided and abetted by strong team defending that cut out the recent soft slot chances in recent games. Line 2 looked great with their hard ice games notably Arvy. Knoblauch relies on top 4 d guys with their #6/7 A and B duo both under 7 min toi. Gotta get that top 4 D upgrade still to come.

Big win shutting it down to win playoff hard ice hockey.

Emberson might be the guy
Need production out of a Top 4 guy if we want to hit another level. Love Emberson but he's not going to be that guy. Were laughing with him as a 3rd pair though. He could be an elite number 6, lots of value there instead of a subpar number 4.

Hopefully we start rolling a bit. I would be happy going 500 minimum in the next bit

We have MIN/COL back to back

Vancouver, Washington, Vancouver

Then I think some "weaker" teams

What a f***ing prick move by Kempe. Kings have always been a lowkey dirty ass team. Enjoy the loss, Kempe. GFY.

What a massive POS motherf****er Kempe is

So dirty and the league BETTER make that a suspension.

We are allergic to the empty net lol. Colorado with 18 to our 6 this year
Seriously, what is the record? I am surprised they have as many as 18 and surprised we even have 6

This game is the reason why they need to upgrade Pickard. Skinner can play so well when his head is in the game. He needs the push.
The team should upgrade on Pickard and rest skinner more perhaps? Maybe they are playing him one to =o many games in a roaw?

It sounds funny, but I always say you can tell if Stu will play well.

he looked sharp as a tack on that simple shot from the corner that he gloved. Kings first shot I think. He just looked confident. You can see it in his movements.

This is true. When Stu is on, you can tell. His movements are quick, decisive, and concise. No antsyness in his game, calm legs. There is an argument that fatigue might be a thing with him. I feel like after a shut out he doesn't bring his best, either reading his press clippings or just too much work in the previous game, although I haven't checked the stats on it. But we saw what happened after his shutout against Boston, guess we'll get another look at it next game.
