What a disaster tonight. Shame because EDM played some decent hockey the last 4 games.

Alright I’ve been stuck in traffic and just tuning in (f*** Vancouver traffic man). I thought we’d be down way more based on the tone in here.

I’m still hopeful we beat these punks
Flame me all you want but I’d give anything to have Tkachuk on McDavid’s wing.
could have..

Man I might make a “could have been” roster on nhl24 or something and cry my eyes out at what could have been.

I never thought it would be possible to mismanage the mcdavid era so badly and that was after the decade of darkness.

Last year was the zenith it seems.
That was their window. The stars were all aligning for them to win a Cup. The Ekholm addition gave them a boon, Skinner was confident coming into the playoffs, the bottom 6 was strong, west was weak, #8 seed made the Cup finals from the east, McDrai at absolute peak performance. The window slammed shut the moment the Oilers went penalty happy in Game 5 against Vegas.

They are playing zone because they believe it could actually be worse playing man to man.. Last year they played on the rails low and that seemed to work pretty well.... outnumber teams down low, take the puck and get on the attack.
All the goals are being scored from the slot 20 ft out rushes and rebounds. Fxxx playing down low. Just play man to man. Idiots straight up.

Bouchard has put his two own goals in the net tonight again.

Are we still going to pretend he’s really good defensively or?

confidence is so massive in sports, half the team looks like they have the yips, its unreal to watch

I think I have seen Ekholm make more misplays this game then he made all of last year after the trade, including the playoffs. He's not the only one either, everyone except Kane looks broken on this team

they have to make a trade, they gotta get a goalie. The fact that they didn't address it in the offseason and now sit in a terrible negotiating position is inexcusable

there are 30 goalies with some form of ntc/nmc in the league, no one is gonna waive to play in Edmonton when they're 5-10

They basically dropped the ball and wasted an entire year by not addressing the gaping hole in the lineup in the offseason

We really needed a coach that rips into these guys and tell them to get their head out of their asses. Don't think Knob is that guy.

He was bad hire, needed a guy like Tocchett or Torts. Should have just rode out the year with Woody and waited for other coaches to hit the open market this summer rather than hiring another calm, soft-spoken, nice guy coach.

Campbell f***ed last year up. Well, Holland did by signing that brain dead contract. Should have signed a cheaper goalie and added another center or dman.
