Oilers return to form, no shots, no PP chances, no emotion, over-passing...

Welcome back!!

EDM is being (yet again) too fancy with the puck. I mean the shots are 19-11 and EDM has or did have more scoring chances than the Blues overall. They need to throw pucks on net like their first goal and crash and bang. They also need to hit the damn net with their shots. lol

Dubnyk needs to stop handling the puck also. That's the fourth time now where he's given the puck away and when that happens, it causes the team to become disorganized in their own zone.

Some people spend all their time posting about other posters instead of the game going on. They seem to get more kicks out of that then the actual game. Real sad.

This is why I love the ignore function.

Poor period. Boys need to come out fast in the third.

We have to somehow get RNH some confidence in his shot again.

He is missing from areas of the ice that were automatic last year.

They need to get him off the first line for a while IMO. Pair him with Yakupov and let them have the easier matchups.

I really think some people cheer for this team to lose just for the chance to be "right".

We don't want them to lose, it's the effort we know we are going to see each night.

They haven't really stepped up this year to the ability they should be playing at. Nobody shoots for a team thats suppose to be about offense.

Man, some people need to settle down a bit. The Blues are a really good team and are a bad matchup for the Oilers, it was kind of expected that they would have a dominant stretch in this game. The game is still tied going into the 3rd on the 2nd of a back to back, we would have all taken that going into the game.
I'm more worried about Hall's injury and Krueger playing freaking Vande Velde of all people in Hall's place than the team's performance tonight.

Do you know what an Ad hominem is? I don't think you do.

I said that this team was going to lose because it was getting outplayed, you said nope they wouldn't and backbone blah blah.

Now its 2-2, I said my statements reside in fact. Where your statements are usually based on nothing but your own personal opinion. Its not an ad hominem if I say the way you argue is BS. I think you have a weird concept of what that word means, unless you think me calling you childish is a way of attack you and not the argument, (I did both actually).

Actually what i said is that some of the posters on this board fold like furniture as soon as we have a goal scored against us...it's plain to see and quite funny.

When we're winning it's all sunshine and gravy, but as soon as the adversity hits, some of you fold like a pair of pants and start bemoaning how much the team sucks.

It's comical really, but mostly annoying. Have some confidence for cripes sake. This team has faced worse adversity and come back to take the game by the balls.

It may not happen tonight, but it just may at that. Keep your pants on in the meantime, and try to enjoy the game.

Oh...and here you go:

marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made

I hope Hall is okay. Looked like it hit him in the bicep to me, hopefully it's just a bruise orsomething.

there is literally no excuse to put VV on the top line instead of yakupov... what exactly does krueger have against yakupov? it's starting to become comical

Yakupov gives the puck away far too much, which means he's not responsible enough. That's my reason why I think Krueger won't put him on the top line yet. JMO.

He's been good with the puck tonight though.

I'd go with

Eberle Gagner Hemsky
Jones RNH Yakupov
Smyth Belanger Petrell
Eager VV ____ (Hemsky/Eberle)

For the rest of the way if Hall can't come back.

Another excellent way to defeat their neutral zone numbers advantage and their defenses ability to step up to help them there is to use an upspeed man activated early as we enter the neutral zone, we just stack two men and have the first or puck carrier penetrate the n-zone and pick a man as early as he can¨--go right at them--, and initiate contact to force their n-zone coverage to collapse on us and then we just have an upspeed man skate in full blast and pick up the relayed puck after the legal pick is initiated. The man who initiates contact as early as he can in the neutral zone needs to remember to make solid contact and keep the opponent moving upice as he drops the puck between his feet for the upspeed man to rip through with, this is an EASY way to beat their n-zone coverage AND catch their d-men in no mans land because they will be out of position cheating to support the n-zone numbers advantage they initiate.

stacking players and just making contact and then leaving the puck for a streaking upspeed support man means we need to approach them coming into the n-zone at only 75% speed because we need to give our upspeed man coming to bust the n-zome coverage an extra gear to fall back on, so remember to approach them in the n-zone at 75% speed as you cut one out of the herd and initiate contact to allow the upspeed man to rip through and pick up the puck. Remember they maintain lateral integrity and not north sout integrity this is why their d- men need to cheat, so we just need to stack our attack at least two deep and we own them totally.

Its this or the short give and gos, now you have two tactics. Go get them.

He has been great tonight on offence and winning board battles.

If you're talking about the whole season, then yes, but tonight he's deserving of a promotion.

Oh, I know he has, and that's awesome to see. I just meant in general, he's not been very good. Personally as a reward, I'd have thrown him up there when the team was winning, but now that it's tied, it might be too big of a risk.
