I keep thinking about this, Perry was in strong demand, from bigger and "nicer" (mostly weather) markets, and he did decide to sign in Edmonton.

That's a really good thing in my mind. Can't shake what a coup it is for him to sign with the Oilers over going to Florida.

What's nice is that he's a right shot so he can slide up and down the lineup and play with all the more skilled left shot players which the team is filled with.

He's going to be a versatile piece in the lineup.

An underrated benefit of this is how Perry seems to be a Hall of Famer in how to work the refs. The number of times over the years where his antics have set off a chain reaction of BS, only for Perry to be out on the ensuing PP after the other team takes the extra penalty. I don't even need to mention the "what do we tell Corey?" fiasco.

As far as "intangibles" go, he brings a lot of them in a bunch of areas. Can't wait to see him in the playoffs.

Guess I’ll wait to see what the performance bonuses entail. For a guy who has made 100m + and made a good chunk of 4m this year, it just seems unnecessary to me.

Hopefully the reason he signed here over Florida isn’t because Holland/Jackson blew their wads on performance bonuses.

Probably 3rd or fourth line. not sure how good defensively he still is. He was not the fastest in his prime.

Chance to play with other Connor probably plays a lot into it. That and we really at times have a hole on the right side that could allow him to play top 6 minutes, although I highly doubt he's going to be in that situation as he hasn't really played that many minutes in years. Either way there is room for him to play up the lineup
