It’s amazing to me how many NYR fans want to give Igor a huge contract. The reality is, with Benoit as goalie coach we can bargain bin the position and get above average production there whoever we put in net. It’s waste cap space beyond that.

No, I wouldn't give Igor a huge deal. I also don't think you can bank on the fact that "anyone" can come in and Benoit can make it work. We just had like 80% of the fanbase shitting on Georgiev (for a reason, he wasn't good).

If we can maintain our structure for the playoffs, then we should be talking. But this is like the first time this group is looking good enough structurally that mediocre goaltending could work.
